Something different from the Chypre Konig
On 15.03.2024 I was finally able to order the fragrance from Roja. The order went out on the same day, as I am a big fan of "Isola Blu (perfume) / Oligarch (perfume) | Roja Parfums". I have to admit that I had imagined this great summer fragrance differently. But as I've already read here, to expect a hybrid of Pacific Chill and Virgin Island Water would not fit Roja Dove at all! But we don't get a classic chypre here either. I can certainly understand why the fragrance is polarizing here. It's just not a typical Roja and also not a typical sparkling, citrusy summer fragrance. However, I do welcome the fact that Roja Dove is taking a different approach here. After all, he has conjured up enough chypre masterpieces!
Here you get a floral, creamy-powdery, slightly fruity summer fragrance. For some, the fragrance may not be extraordinary enough. But I am of the opinion that Roja has created a "sun cream vibe" fragrance of great quality. In the opening you get a fresh citrus, but not as "sharp" as most summer fragrances. The floral notes are also immediately present and remain dominant throughout the fragrance. The apricot, together with the coconut, gives the whole thing a very slight sweetness. For me, however, these two fragrance notes are beautifully interwoven and not "over-present". The citrusy notes fade into the background relatively quickly. Light aquatic notes and a gentle base of musk and woods round off the fragrance. The entire creation comes across as very elegant, soft and clean.
From the description, you can already tell that the fragrance is more of a feminine scent. The fragrance definitely needs the right wearer. I think the fragrance is very appealing and definitely wearable as a signature, but not a blind buy. It definitely goes better with a slightly more chic outfit, such as a white summer dress or a white polo shirt.
The longevity and sillage are really good for this type of fragrance! Also just right for the fragrance. So no "beast fashion" but rather elegantly restrained. But you will be noticed and it lasts a good 8 hours on me.
Finally, a few words about the presentation. For me, the presentation of the fragrance is perfect. Watching the sunrise over the sea from an island. Catching the first warming rays of sunshine of the day, feet in the sand, while the surf gently awakens the senses. The "packaging" is based on the design of the "Isola Blu (perfume) / Oligarch (perfume) | Roja fragrance" and is really very beautiful. I see the only connection between the two fragrances in the coconut note, which is discreetly incorporated in both. There is no doubt that they are both summer fragrances. The bottle and sprayer are typical Roja in the 50ml design and are a straight 10 for me. I had the Isola Sol and the Isola Blu Parfum next to each other and it was simply beautiful. It was almost as if Isola Blu Parfum had been given a "little sister". Don't get me wrong, the fragrance is great, certainly wearable as a man, but I personally prefer to smell it on a woman.
Feel free to test it and form your own opinion! Sunny greetings Micha

Fragrance for Kings refined
Hey community, today I would like to share with you my first impression of the new "Jubilation 40 | Amouage". I'm sure it's still a bit early for a detailed review, but if you know the "Jubilation XXV Man | Amouage", the fragrance is not a big surprise!...
