Landscape Impressions
Macchia and olive groves, gentle vineyards and ripe wheat fields embrace the city of Florence richly.
Not to forget, the vast sunflower fields and the little woods that alternately provide shade with the olive groves.
Here, the summer sunlight is merciless: no breeze, hardly any shade.
Except for the shadows of the cypress trees, drawn in black like silhouettes, the guardians of this landscape.
The air vibrates under the tireless courtship of the numerous cicadas; at times, they can be a bit nerve-wracking.
But as Goethe, who was known to be a wise man, once said: "Happy are the cicadas, for they have silent wives!"
Not polite! No, Mr. Geheimrat, it really isn't!!
But the thought that the female creatures would also be heard: oh, dear!

The landscape in Tuscany lives from rich colors: brown, ochre, yellow, and many shades of green enliven it.
And not to forget: "La terra rossa," the fertile red earth, which reminds us of itself everywhere here.
What a treasure it is, how valuable it is and how valuable it has been through the centuries!
Countless red bricks have been fired from it, from which so many cities of Tuscany were built.
Just think of Siena, the "red city," which even gave its name to a shade.
There stands the tower of the Palazzo Pubblico, "like a lily, whose white stone flowers are on a long red stem; a monument to female purity." (Quote from a novel.)

With these images in mind and in my heart, I approach Ferragamo's composition: will I be disappointed?
A fresh, yet not biting opening of noble citrus fruits presents itself; not surprisingly, it brings with it the magic of roses.
Roses that crown Florence alongside iris and sunflowers.
Roses that seem to pay tribute to the beautiful women of this city, such as Simonetta Vespucci, with their noble aroma.
What would their beauty be without the roses?
What would we women be without roses?
The tree-like guardian of the landscape, the slender cypress, lends its slightly resinous spice to this enchanting entrée; still sun-warmed, it develops its balsamic powers.
Labdanum - no, that must not be missing: the resin of the rockroses, which are found here in abundance and variety. How beautifully everything harmonizes together. What an idyll is already spreading on my skin!
The highlight of this lively fragrance composition follows immediately: patchouli!
Golden brown, earthy, and creamy, it flows along, this fragrance stream that opens the senses and ultimately enchants them.
Golden amber notes and the tastefully presented sweetness of the tonka bean form an adequate accompaniment to this all-dominating scent.
For it is quite clear: patchouli is the undisputed king of this fragrance creation!
It now forms a harmonious whole that enchants heart and soul!

Can one capture the diverse, so fertile landscape of Tuscany in a fragrance?
I would have denied it had I not had the pleasure of getting to know Salvatore Ferragamo's "Terra Rossa."
What a charming monument this grand seigneur, who loved the city of Florence so much, has conjured up here in flacons!

"Terra Rossa," one of the "Tuscan Creations," evokes a gentle and hilly landscape in the light of the late afternoon. Everything seems to be lazily dozing after a long siesta; stretching slowly and breathing a sigh of relief: the scorching sun has turned into a golden warmth.
"Terra Rossa," the red earth of Tuscany: so vibrant, so fragrant!
A fragrant vibration of the area that has produced so much beauty and culture.

Here, a knowledgeable hand with a great passion for art and beauty was at work.
Thus, a fragrance creation was born, as true as the landscape that gives it its name.
This scent impression is well done; it was skillfully crafted in these wonderful, sensual earthy tones and sun-drenched with love for detail.
"Terra Rossa" is a tribute to the landscape and a beautiful fragrance discovery.
It is not only enchanting and charming, it is also very clingy. It remains loyal to me for several hours; the scent flow changes slightly from time to time - becoming quieter, softer; then again heavier, earthier:
I feel how "Terra Rossa" breathes on my skin!
A fragrance that breathes the magic of an entire landscape - how enchanting and at the same time mystical!

Quantum Leap into Tuscany - a fragrance that touches the soul
It was one of those vacation days when you don't have high expectations and wish that time would fly by ...

(Hold on: TIME? Does TIME even exist? Is it true that NASA is feverishly working on the development of a TIME MACHINE? Has the question of PARALLEL UNIVERSES finally been resolved ;) ? Questions upon questions ... )

On that day, it was raining heavily, a dense, dark cloud cover hung over the quaint Dutch Zeeland, and the approaching thunderstorm had chased our usually tough, now trembling dog under the living room table. Our holiday home, which had been a cool shade provider just the day before, transformed into a damp, cold cave. In search of a little comfort, I grabbed my Ferragamo, wrapped myself in a thick blanket, and made myself as cozy as possible with my reading on the couch ...

I awoke to the scent of the soft, copper-red spice of an aged whiskey, which was enticingly glowing beside me on the Italian terracotta table. As I inhaled its aroma deeply, I noticed the fire crackling in the fireplace, warming me tenderly. The bright, double-winged terrace door of the Tuscan villa was wide open, revealing a view of the magnificent garden. I stepped outside and inhaled the smell of damp, cool earth wafting from a freshly planted bed.
Golden sun rays played with my hair, tickling my nose as I began my stroll, which led me to an old, nearby olive grove after about 30 minutes of walking.
Enchanted by the sweet-earthy aroma that the setting sun coaxed from the red earth, I settled down and sank into a deep slumber, enveloped by the scent of Terra Rossa ...

When I opened my eyes, I looked into the copper-lit face of my landlord, who stood before me with two glasses and a bottle of red wine.

The cloud cover over Zeeland had now completely dissolved - I just caught a glimpse of the rapidly fading light trail in the sky ;) , before we set off with our bottle of Colli di Luni to the beach to bid farewell to the setting sun and let a few shooting stars fly around us ...

Conclusion:
This fragrance is simply incredible! For me, it embodies comfort and grounding.
During the first testing in a private perfumery in Aachen, I immediately fell in love with Terra Rossa.
Its sillage is strong to very strong (but not overpowering), its development is very multifaceted, and the ingredients are very well traceable in every phase of development:
In the relatively short-lived top note, I perceive woody, fresh, and a slightly alcoholic note - a good, old whiskey, spicy yet rounded and soft.
The heart note with patchouli and labdanum reminds me of fresh, turned earth - without the patchouli accord appearing musty or moldy.
Amber and benzoin in the base note leave a sweet, woody-earthy impression and have a calming effect, wrapping you up - and with a longevity of up to 12 hours!

However, I do not assign Terra Rossa to a specific season: For me, it is an all-rounder that can warm the soul or cool a heated spirit. A comforter in every sense: Whether "hunger," "pee," or "cold" - with Terra Rossa, everything is only half as bad!
I increasingly feel the desire to one day "bathe" in this devilry ;) - and there is only one alternative to the bottling (Thank you, dear Angua! :) ):

At least one bottle is a must, and quickly! :)

Homogeneous Italian Nose-pleaser of the Smoothest PatchRosAmbers
Yes, one can indeed rejoice in this Italian creation. Ferragamo, who piles up an awful lot of useless stuff in his standard range nearly to the ceiling, apparently allows his perfumers to work much more carefully and thoughtfully in the niche segment.

The "Tuscan soul" reveals itself as an extremely harmoniously crafted autumn fragrance in a rather moderate sillage range, exuding a cozy, comfortable aura.

Slightly sour orange splashes at the beginning, mixed with already waxy-resinous components, create a somewhat bumpy start, which soon rounds out and harmonizes. The citrus notes fade away, becoming mere background noise, while a trio of very carefully dosed rose water, fresh patchouli, and cuddly, slightly resinous-sweet amber pushes its way to the center.

Undoubtedly so smoothly coordinated that even patchouli haters might open their hearts wide here.
All three aromas merge very skillfully at times, with the rose shining through in a herb-fresh floral manner, while the earthiness of the patchouli prevents the amber from drifting too much into the planar sweetness.

Longevity is good, sillage is suitable for everyday use - truly a delightful, because extremely balanced creation in this quite broadly established style category.

Gives you what you need
Terra Rossa is for me one of the most beautiful patchouli scents I have had the pleasure of discovering so far and is the first of its kind to join my collection. It didn't sneak slowly into my fragrance heart; rather, it burst in through the door, completely captivating me with its first whiff.
Terra Rossa also makes it very easy to like it, unless you have an all-consuming aversion to patchouli.
On my skin, the first note you can perceive - surprise - is patchouli. A slightly bitter aromatic scent spreads out and reminds me of rain on warm earth that you can sometimes smell before it actually starts to rain where you are. In the next moment, it already shifts into a sweet warm-spicy scent. Orange frames everything in a subtly fruity way and supports a wonderfully radiant fragrance aura. After a while, I can also clearly detect amber, which adds a bit more softness and gentle expressiveness to the scent. Its compactness is repeatedly lightened by slightly citrusy accents, which I personally find really great because it keeps the fragrance from ever feeling heavy, instead laying like a protective but airy veil over you.
Terra Rossa is a scent for all life and emotional situations. It cheers me up when I'm sad, calms me when I'm angry, balances me when I'm stressed, and grounds me when I feel a bit lost.
It is gentle, strong, demanding, kind - and all at the same time.
It lasts about 10 hours, and the sillage is quite decent in the first 2-3 hours before gradually tapering down to skin level.
The bottle is high-quality and feels good in the hand; I particularly like the wooden cap.
So - anyone looking for a gentle, spicy patchouli scent should not miss out on Terra Rossa and definitely give it a try.

Come with the first snow

Terra Rossa is a perfume that brings both well-being and subtle eroticism. You feel simultaneously sensual and enchanting, enveloped in a gray-black cloud, and then again very lovely and noble, in a delicate, feminine way. Deep waters are indeed deep, I thought right away upon our encounter. For I did not expect such a beautiful cloak from Salvatore F. It doesn't hit you right away and doesn't come off as shrill. It arrives on velvet paws and slowly wraps around me. I love that. A scent that envelops and drapes itself around the wearer like a wool coat. Perfect for rainy days and the upcoming winter.

I can hardly wait to feel the cold when I step out of the warm apartment and draw in the biting air. Unfortunately, the effect in the city is not the same as in the village, somewhere on a mountain peak, at 9:30 in the morning, when you are the first on skis on the groomed slope, looking down at the valleys. When I think of that, I get quite sentimental and can almost grasp the icy air and pull it into my body. Such strong images arise from a seemingly normal everyday moment that occurred so often in my childhood and youth. But when I moved to the city, these images became fewer and fewer. You rarely get to do something you once loved so much. Unfortunately!

Terra Rossa will be a big theme for me, especially in winter. A scent that clearly makes my days easier, as it envelops me in an earthy, warm embrace. Slightly "orangey," fruity at first. But these are just seconds, if you ask me. Under the cloak, it creates a sort of intermediate layer. The body is separated from the cloak and the outside world by a spicy wall. There is a timid sweetness in the background and the overpowering patchouli note, which has been integrated so well here that its intensity is not bothersome at all. The scent becomes deeper and warmer as time goes on. It creates pastel tones around the soul, caressing it joyfully and sensually. I feel noble. Noble and also secure when I apply it. It suits really elegant outfits and also presents itself as very distinctive at night. The earthy note feels powerful and is repeatedly illuminated brightly. The spicy front that develops in the scent lasts a long time, and over time, the patchouli becomes very creamy. You feel filled with warmth. As if you were filling your soul with warm pudding. A bit of powder wrapped around it with a distinctly more bitter sweetness - a perfect scent that will surely remind many of you of Coromandel. However, this version is significantly lighter and doesn't immediately brandish its weapons in your face.

The deeper you connect with it, the longer you stay in this position. It lasts a long time, and the warmth fades only after what feels like an eternity. It's like a spooning position. This connection. With the close, familiar partner who holds you tightly and awaits the cold but calm winter morning with you. Outside, it is pitch dark. Only the snowflakes blink slightly and fall serenely onto the cold ground. Yes, it is also good for such things. Not just for "wearing under the cloak and appearing noble," but also for the intimate things in life. Also for those moments when you simply let yourself fall after a warm shower and enjoy the evening. While drinking warm tea or cocoa and watching the snowflakes outside.

The bottle is kept simple and makes a statement. It fits well in the hand, has a good and solid weight. Linear designs are my favorite anyway. And it is just that. Simple yet so clear. I especially like the half-wooden cap.

Come with the first snow,
leave your footprints in my soul.
Spread your arms,
so that I can pull you close to me.
I hug you tightly,
so that your scent, together, like
in a snow globe, embraces us firmly.
