First of all: How incredibly rare and great is this REAL deer musk!? That one can still experience something like this in Germany in 2025 ... thank you, Frederic! :-)
But let's also talk about the other ingredients: The
Kenshitora impresses not only with its dominant musk but also with a complex, evolving bouquet of green, fresh natural 'naturals'. Until hour 3/4, there is truly a lot to discover in the drydown, and the top note is a rollercoaster of citrusy-green, earthy-animalistic feelings.
I have tried again to convey the scent development to you as best as I can (and according to my perception):
• Spraying (8:23 AM):
Intense, animalistic musk pairs with sweeter, green-spicy notes, almost slightly herbal. The opening is incredibly strong, all-encompassing, and confrontational. This musk punch is something you have to like. You already know that this scent is not for beginners.
• Just 2 minutes later:
The strong animality of the musk disappears, retreats, and becomes more pleasant. A strong, sweet-fresh citrus note joins in. Additionally, it carries something dark and spicy with it.
• After half an hour:
... the intense citrus presence is already (almost) over. I didn't look at the fragrance pyramid for the testing, just skimmed over it before testing, and would have said that a sweetened bergamot is now detectable - alongside the prominent, earthy-spicy musk.
• After 1 hour:
The citrus is fading strongly, and the Kenshitora is now heading in a direction of "sweet wood with musk and dark, yet warming spice".
• After 2 hours:
The citrus is gone, and the musk is no longer the star of the show. It allows an ambered, sweet-resinous wood to come forward. The spice has developed into a brighter tone. The drydown goes into a sweet, balsamic wood with musk and slight green notes.
• After 3 hours:
The sweet/resinous wood with a slightly ethereal touch and musk crystallizes as "the drydown". I can already sense that this will be the DD-DNA (Spoiler: It almost is).
The sillage is above the peak, but this thing will hold on for a long time - that's already certain :D
• After 4 hours:
The musk is now playing second fiddle and is saying goodbye from the stage.
The drydown will not change significantly from now on. It is a distinctive mix of vetiver + cedarwood that remains sweet and warm due to something resinous or balsamic.
• After 6 hours:
The musk is gone. So is the sillage. Until the supposed end, now after 13.5 hours, it has not changed further - it remains a sweet-spicy, distinctive wood.
Funny: Now after 13.5 hours, my skin smells slightly "pissy" - once again underscores that this scent is not for beginners *haha*

Conclusion:
Another Nebiru that screams "NICHE." Confrontational, polarizing, unfriendly for beginners. I once showed the scent to 3 colleagues - they quickly waved it off with thanks x)
For me, it is clearly a masculine scent that has little daily suitability, but is rather sprayed on after work. For going out, it is too niche and disturbing.
Seasonally, I see it in the cooler spring or autumn.
Unfortunately, it is no longer available (May 2025) - I would have probably liked to try it just for the real musk! :-(
But: Unreserved recommendation to all those who are looking for a new fragrance experience and want to broaden their horizons :-))
