Almond Milk Makes Tired Mario Disappointed

Ui ui ui, figs and me. And then also almond milk, which can sometimes go wrong in connection with my nose... And yet I tried "Figue en Fleur." Curious. Brave. Reckless.

This fig scent is.... not the worst in the world. But that's about all the positive I can say about "Figue en Fleur." Milky, green, juicy, blunt. But not quite. Not at all to my taste. But I think it doesn't offer much new or great for "fig fans" either. Hesitant, slightly sour, slightly sweet, can cause a gag reflex. Not bad but too close for comfort. Many soft components can also come off as very clunky and "sharp." Like spoiled milk. Like fermented nature. Slightly off. But there are surely worse figs out there. Still, this is never good or bearable for me. At least not for my self-image.

Longevity: 5 hours... I had to endure that.
Sillage: not too potent, even when running
Bottle: simple and precise

Conclusion: Almond milk meets fig mush... not for me. Quite unpleasant in its worst moments. Tolerable in its best. Defensive.

It sounded so beautiful…

Figue en Fleur is one of those fragrances that I imagined to be more beautiful, delicate, and valuable based on the descriptions than it ultimately turned out to be.

At the center, I perceive a grape-sugar sweet flower. Rose is listed here. I wouldn't swear to it. Underneath, something fruity peeks through with a hint of green spiciness. Over time, it is slightly lactonic-creamy underneath. Fig? With good will. Peach wouldn't be wrong either. A generic, synthetic wood nuance closes it off. Together, this can evoke the impression of a ripe fig, but it doesn't have to.

Compounding the issue is that from the very beginning, everything feels very artificial. Not disturbing, but very uninspired. Like a photo of an abstract fruit. I can't hold on to anything. No connection is formed. No feeling. Just rigid, distant uniformity.

For me, it doesn't compare to numerous authentic fig scents. Even if it is meant to be a different interpretation, it doesn't convince me. Neither in concept, nor composition, nor in the ingredients. I can only credit it with a certain pleasantness.

A quiet "fig" disappointment.
