not only beautiful on St. Patrick's Day
Still lazy in bed, I asked myself the daily question: "What fragrance will you take today?"
I was looking for something heavy, spicy, that warms and maybe lights a small fire inside me.
My thoughts hadn't gotten far when shortly after seven o'clock the house was once again shaking from construction work and reality, as so often in recent months, was loud and disturbing at the door.
I first pulled the blanket over me and covered my ears!
As thin-skinned as I was afterwards, my senses were reluctant to feel heavy heat; something light, preferably balmy, was needed
Now, with the last fragrance package from dear Heikeso, a "six-pack" of Serge Lutens' "Wässerchen" had arrived: the flacons already testify to their "fragrance purity".
So "Santal Blanc" may accompany me this morning: it is simply a beauty in the fragrance.
Without the usual citrus freshness, which often bites and also cools excessively (I'm freezing all by myself!), this airy, spicy something gets by.
My first impression is: green, spicy - warmth, meadow!
The next moment I see myself as a child lying in an unmown meadow and enthusiastically chewing on the stems of the clover leaves: large blades of grass did it too, but I preferred fenugreek - the stems are thicker and therefore juicier! They also crack so nicely when you bite into them!
(Had my mum known what I "enjoyed" on these occasions, she would probably have been frightened after all)
This green-fresh spice meets pink pepper pretty soon; both get along very well and I can tolerate both!
Jasmine, the large-flowered, not yet "stinky", but aromatic variety, and garden roses ensure that this elf-like creation is infused with a delicate floral scent right to the end.
Clear and pure and spicy, "Santal Blanc" has surrounded me so far; the balsamic nuances now appearing are very welcome to me, especially today: Iris root I can clearly see, anyway.
Their layer of scented powder seems to calm my senses, which are brushed against the line, to dampen everything a little
A suitable dose of cinnamon adds the necessary inner warmth and benzoin resinous spice; but not in excess: "Santal Blanc" is very well balanced and thus musk and white sandalwood, very well known in Tibetan medicine, complete this composition in a very sympathetic way.
A light-footed scent creature that brings spices, flowers and balsamic treasures has settled on my skin.
While we both were on the way earlier, "Santal Blanc" withdrew a little: 5°C were probably, despite the sunshine, a little cool for this transparent air spirit.
But already at the supermarket checkout I was asked what the beautiful thing was that I smell like
So this "curiosity flower" has probably immediately set about enchanting its environment again.
Sillage and shelf life here correspond to what I expect from fragrances of this kind: the fine yet spicy fragrance with the balsamic coat politely bids farewell after a few hours.
It clears the way for another fragrance - if you want one: what remains with me is a very delicate hint of "flowering nothing".
With "Santal Blanc" Serge Lutens has succeeded in calming my ruffled feathers of the same senses, stroking them gently over my hair and just being there.
This fragrance creation is nothing big, nothing exciting: but obviously just what I need at the moment.
And for that I am grateful and of course also curious how the other five siblings will feel.
Today I have probably found my fragrance companion for the time being.
