State of the art

I am becoming increasingly fascinated by gourmand fragrances. The choice is huge and can quickly overwhelm you! At first I was looking for something special and unusual and came across Gritti - Duchessa. I went straight to the souk and ordered a sample. Full of anticipation and euphoria, I jumped on it and was quickly disillusioned. Too bad (review available). So the search continued. Relatively quickly I came across the perfumes from Swiss Arabian. Another oriental offshoot with heavy sweetness in oud garb? No, apparently not ...
The price alone is an argument in itself and prompted me to make a blind buy. Then you sit at home and think about your purchase decision, okay, it wasn't that expensive, but is it still worth it? I just took my chances. The next day, the parcel carrier was at the door.
Of course, I unpacked the perfume again full of anticipation and euphoria. First impressions of the packaging and bottle were thoroughly positive. Can you now also convince with inner values or should you just look chic in the wardrobe?
Bravely pulled out the test strips and off we went...
Wow! The roasted almond hits you gently but firmly in the face. After the strong opening, reinforcement comes from the heart. A light rose resonates, rounded off with a hint of cinnamon and a pinch of orange and is neither feminine nor masculine.
The base soon makes its presence felt with a really beautiful vanilla note, mixed with a little tonka bean. The vanilla doesn't seem synthetic to me at all and that alone must be seen as a big plus point! Later on, when the top note has completed its great work, there is a very soft and definite twist that rounds off the whole fragrance nicely and makes it very gourmand! You could classify it as a warm, subtle vanilla with slightly roasted almonds.

Fantastic! Now the world out there needs to know about it too.
So two discreet, I emphasize again, DECENT sprays in the neck area and shortly afterwards out on the street. I could smell the fragrance on myself for hours in all weathers. A few hours later, I was in the car again and turned the interior into a bakery. H/S simply unbelievable! Does it ever get annoying? No! Because it doesn't smell artificial or synthetic, nor does one note totally dominate - that's what makes it so pleasing in my opinion.

So, now I'm seriously wondering how an approx. 60 EUR perfume can deliver like this, while the "big ones" a'la PDM and Co are increasingly only selling us blanks. I wish this would become fashionable, state of the art - gaining large market shares to show the big players that this is how it's done these days!
