Recently I have significantly increased my fragrance collection and had of course also flirted with number 1. No matter where you look you are showered with praise, even in the chanting you have already arrived.
So I thought a blind purchase was an absolutely safe bet. You only hear and read good things. Well, I thought...
The presentation, the bottle and the feel are a poem and absolutely sublime! Full of excitement, I put the first spray on my wrist. It didn't even occur to me to test it on paper beforehand...
The very first moment I opened it, a cloud hit my face and took over the whole room. H/S needs no discussion - this one is brute.
But everything I perceived from the actual scent seemed pretty familiar to me.
It smells like Wick VapoRub to me, which is probably due to the honey-tobacco-lavender combination that is quite dominant.
I waited anxiously, somewhat impatiently, for the rest of the process. Unfortunately, the Naxos remained fairly straightforward in its aforementioned honey-tobacco-lavender trail. After about 2 hours, it became increasingly softer and more wearable. But it still hardly changes at all. No complexity, no twist, no...
Disappointed, I carefully put the perfume back into its imposing packaging. Lid closed - chapter Naxos closed.
It's a shame, but that's the way it should be and at least you learn something from it. Never a blind buy, especially in this price category.
