Vincent D’Onofrio, a now somewhat unhinged Hollywood star, presumably due to too much Miracoli, was originally intended for the role of Tristan Ludlow in "Legends of Passion," which was then given to Brad Pitt, who looks significantly better in a loincloth.... Perhaps V. D’Onofrio was formerly Onofri, who then insisted on a name change due to the somewhat derailed life plans of Tristano. Tristano, who now finances his wine cellar as a part-time exorcist dressed entirely in white in picturesque Rimini after the bankruptcy of his fashion house in 2010, would have been better off "staying in Düsseldorf," as the eponymous hit by Dorthe Kollo warns...

About the scent: Based on national and international descriptions, one expects a harsh, slightly stinging aftershave representative and instead receives a slightly earthy patchouli scent with fine wood, patinated leather, and a shy hint of sweetness, to stay in the local jargon... There’s nothing old-school about Tristano by Onofri... a now 30-year-old ragazzo with, as described here, modern influences.
Tristano Onofri seems to be visibly annoyed by the 'Tarantella' that is being performed around him due to the exorcisms conducted on overweight German bathers in the blazing midday sun and is now having a glass of Barolo with Max von Sydow and Linda Blair. Salute.

The scent is no longer available for sale or trade... but there are others...

Is this a new hybrid? Or a botanical sensation? And: could it be invented if it were possible?
No. Neither. Because it already exists. In liquid form, bottled in green, rectangular flacons.
"Onofri" by Tristano Onofri, a fashion designer who was particularly known in the German-speaking world and dressed stars and starlets.
And with the introduction of his fragrances in the 80s and 90s, he certainly did nothing wrong. Here I have the "men's fragrance" in front of me, and it features a pleasant fougère.
A balanced combination of fresh, sweet, spicy, and woody elements, with the lavender note being the first thing that stands out to me, even though it is not listed above.
This lavender mixes with a bit of basil and uplifting clary sage.
"Onofri" cannot deny fresh floral notes either.
And what makes it really interesting is the fusion of the "top note" with the base.
Mossy and green "forest accords," fine woody cedar are "illuminated" by the blue-violet, herbaceous-floral lavender.
So with this combination, some might immediately think of an "old people's scent." Or of moth-repellent sachets between starched dress shirts or sweaters.
But this fragrance does not convey the lavender theme in that way. It is rather a cheerful, crisp, beautiful companion for spring and summer, evoking a sense of Provence vacations or meadow strolls.
Water lovers should know that "Onofri" also suits beach walks by the sea and lakes, as it conveys "vastness," "coolness," and a pleasant breeze without being "aquatic."

Back in the 80s, you could read quite a lot about Tristano Onofri in the local press in Düsseldorf. You learned who was being dressed by Mr. Onofri in his boutique on Düsseldorf's Königsallee, whether they were somewhat famous or not. While that was somewhat impressive, I could never take it too seriously - and so Tristano Onofri remained more of a local figure for me rather than an international fashion designer.

But then at the end of that decade, his men's fragrance Tristano hit the market. And suddenly, the world looked a little different. The Eau de Toilette impressed with very clean and fresh notes that came across as nicely balanced between sweet and spicy. Basil and clary sage blended excellently with the floral components. Now and then, you read phrases like "smells like freshly showered" in some comments, which I personally associate most closely with this scent. Moreover, I find that Tristano bears a certain resemblance to Lacoste (original) - the perfect kick-off summer refreshment fragrance. In contrast, Tristano might be a tad sweeter, a pinch spicier, and a bit soapier, but looking at the common ingredients, that almost explains itself.

Well - in principle, there was a lot to suggest that the fragrance should have found a place in my modest collection, but when I think back, it was probably that comic-like toy bottle that held me back from making a purchase. Nowadays, I would think much less about this topic - but at that time, with the overwhelming abundance of strong fragrances, it was almost a deal-breaker.

So, I guess all that's left for me is to regret the missed opportunity with a bit of nostalgia, but luckily I still have my mini.

Tristano Onofri himself filed for bankruptcy about four years ago and has since disappeared from public life in the most beautiful city on the Rhine. If he ever returns to fashion or even fragrances, I definitely wish him more success. Especially in the design of the bottles!

... I wore TRISTANO in the 90s....everything was somehow a party and the world revolved around where to get the next styling for the weekend...the nights were short...(or long - depending on how you look at it *g*)....and somehow I stumbled upon this perfume.
I was told that this scent would totally suit me...and so it went on for years---I always felt (and still feel) very comfortable with it.

It has something (once again) lavender-like....and it lasts well on the skin, somehow merging with it.....since (thankfully) even slightly sweeter scents smell a bit herbaceous on my skin, TRISTANO, which is not very sweet itself, has always been a good companion....and nightlife buddy ;))
It somehow smells like sex, said a going-out friend of mine...and I can only agree with that ;))
