The next sandalwood scent...
Santal Blanc, Santal de Kandy, Santalum Eau de Parfum, Le Santal, Generation(s), all have more or less the same drydown - sandalwood.
The fragrance starts with a fresh green pear that quickly becomes slightly dusty due to the pepper and, within the next 5 minutes, clearly transitions into a green fig. Even after 15 minutes of spraying, the main note of the fragrance, sandalwood, makes its appearance. It begins green from the fig and then ends up a bit dusty on the skin.
For me, this is quite a flat scent, remaining one-dimensional and simple without any development, and ends rather unspectacularly, woody. More of a skin scent. It doesn’t project, staying close to the skin. There’s no cloud forming like with Santal Blanc or Gris Charnel Eau de Parfum. Le Santal is perceived more, as well as Santalum Eau de Parfum.
But do we really need another fig-sandalwood scent? I love the combo, but not at this price. Is this the better sandalwood scent?! Hm - not for the price. It’s not bad, but how many do we need with the same drydown? Does it stand out more than the others? I doubt it.
I’m sorry, but it doesn’t shine for me.
