Sea inspired masterpiece
Raise your hand if you love pineapple scents! I can meanwhile raise both. Akdeniz is by far the best fruity complex pineapple based aquatic I’ve come across. Coming from fairly new niche house this blend has conquered my heart from the first sniff. What drew me over the edge is that it’s notes mingle is so unique plus the concentration is indescribable. Once you spray it on your hand it feels quite oily for some time leading to personal assumption that fragrance oils and absolutes in here are added in massive doses.
The scent itself fills up the room in no time. If you are afraid of bold loud fragrances, don’t be. Akdeniz is so well balanced that it would suit everyone. Opening has very lively and abundant aquatic touch to it which throws me to the ocean shores once I close my eyes. Not Caribbean landscape with “sipping fruity piña colada at the beach bar” but to the stony secluded beaches of Mediterranean where you enjoy silence and relax your senses standing at the edge of water.
After initial pineapple-heavy opening you feel that fragrance gets more tamed, it starts playing with different notes. Various aromas come and go flushing you over with waves of different elements: sandalwood, lavender, vanilla, sandalwood again, jasmine, patchouli and that play is endless… So peaceful yet so strong. After 10 hour mark I start getting smokey, leathery accords that tie everything together. Almost as if fragrance is changing with the time of the day. Morning is vibrant and bright, day is cozy and mellow and evening is rich, dark and sensual. To me this is an absolute masterpiece. It has been a long time since fragrance has WOW’ed me so much
