Green spicy shade
Tsar starts with a noble mugwort-lavender blend that strikes me as both serious and calming. The green notes are reminiscent of endless, deep dark green forests and are complemented by revitalizing, slightly tart and spicy notes, like in a good aftershave.
Notes such as jasmine also allow the fragrance to settle quickly and gently on the skin, affecting the wearer more than those around them, but this is quickly forgiven thanks to the wonderful scent.
Later, it develops a more woody character and is barely noticeable after about 5-6 hours. Personally, I find this better than prolonging the scent with synthetic notes. For me, this fragrance is of high quality. When in doubt, I spray again :)
Unfortunately, I have no comparison to the Tsar (1989) Eau de Toilette from 1989. Is it the same? Has it been completely reformulated? I don't know. But I like it very much. I have rarely smelled anything like it.
I see this fragrance as more suited to men, especially those over 30. I also associate the fragrance with respect and esteem.
