Caution, body spray smells different!
Since this wonderfully light and fresh scent has unfortunately been discontinued, I ordered the body spray from Notino. Unfortunately, it smells sweeter and more overpowering, not as weightless and freshly showered as the Eau de Toilette. I hope that VS will bring it back - lately, I've often seen re-releases of old scents and have even written to them about it. (I was recommended Mandarin & Honeysuckle as an alternative, but I haven't been able to test that yet.)

A pastel-colored chiffon scarf made of gentle flowers
That's how I would describe the scent in a few words.

I have not been a big fan of VS fragrances so far. Nor of the body sprays. The scents have always been too fruity-sweet for me, and I generally don't like body spray. The exception here is the Acqua Colonia body sprays, especially Lime & Nutmeg, which refresh wonderfully.

Only Secret Charm piqued my curiosity when I read the comments about it. Unfortunately, our Müller didn't have a tester for it, but since the EdT was reduced to €9.95 this week, I took it home untested. If necessary, it can go to the swap meet, I thought. Still, I was sure I would like the scent. The comments sounded promising, and I also really like honeysuckle and jasmine. Serafina criticizes the low sillage, so it can't be a powerhouse.

And indeed, I like the scent. Quite a lot, actually. It is really quite close to the skin, which I prefer not only in spring when everything outside is blooming and fragrant. Still, it is well perceivable for me; 2-3 sprays are more than enough. The scent starts with honeysuckle, and jasmine quickly follows. The two create a lovely duo, and you don't get much more than that. So, if honeysuckle and jasmine are too little for you, you will be disappointed.

Overall, the scent is remarkably linear. After the first 5 minutes, nothing more happens. The scent simply becomes weaker over time. This is not a drawback for me; I don't like scents that completely change over time. I spray fragrances according to my mood, sometimes also according to the occasion. Therefore, a strongly changing scent progression is more annoying than pleasant for me. I prefer to use another scent after a few hours when the fragrance has faded, or I just reapply. Secret Charm lasts about 4 hours, which is perfectly sufficient for me. I don't like scents that stubbornly cling to me like glue - 4-5 hours are the ideal longevity for me.

Anyone looking for a fresh-floral, light scent for spring and summer who doesn't want to spend too much should definitely give this one a try!

Edit: I've just realized which scent it reminds me of. It's "Daisy" by Marc Jacobs. Only that it lasts significantly better than the expensive daisies!

How VS Surprised Me
I never thought I would find a fragrance at Victoria's Secret that felt tailor-made for me. I had been very skeptical about the brand's perfumes until now, although I’m not exactly sure where these prejudices came from. But I do know. VS is a successful lingerie label and could sell anything just because that name is on it, which everyone associates with flawless, winged top models. They don’t even have to put effort into the scent composition; it’s just commercialism to extract money from mainstream girls. That’s what I thought, anyway. After Secret Charm, I’m not so sure anymore.

When I stood in the VS store in front of the many bottles, I decided to give one of them a chance since I was already there. I chose Secret Charm because it was blue (my absolute favorite color) and the name sounded quite promising. So I sprayed it on and expected all my prejudices to be confirmed. I anticipated a sticky, artificial, kitschy sweetness and already envisioned myself walking out of the store empty-handed.

And then I cautiously sniffed my wrist...
...and was blown away.

Secret Charm is unpretentious, gentle, and natural. I really didn’t expect that. Restraint and sophistication, unpretentious elegance...from VS?!

The scent is very warm, light, and floral on me; honeysuckle and jasmine complement each other perfectly, and neither is synthetic but rather close to nature. It truly suits me and fits into my everyday life. That’s why I ended up buying it.

Not so praiseworthy is the longevity; the scent fades rather quickly, but I’m happy to overlook that for this fragrance. I can always reapply it, and I enjoy doing so.

By now, I’ve worn it several times and even received a compliment from my best friend.

“You smell amazing, what is that?”
Me: “Victoria's Secret.”
“What?!” she sniffed again, incredulously.
“Yeah, I never thought so either...” I smiled.

Blue Flower Wonder
I acquired some fragrances from Victoria's Secret because I really liked the corresponding body butter. Well, most of them are really just for a light scent after bathing in the evening (when you don't have anything special planned for the night), as they do smell a bit artificial. However, Secret Charm is a wonderfully pleasant surprise! The combination of honeysuckle and jasmine has a floral and slightly sweet scent, but it feels completely natural to me. I only deduct points for the low sillage and longevity (I'm referring to the EDT here, not the body spray, which is used more generously anyway).

Floral-fresh with a subtle sweetness from white jasmine blossoms, honeysuckle, chamomile, and aloe vera.
Perfect for various "Daisy fans" of Marc Jacobs.

Floral-soft, with a hint of fruit - that's how you want to smell at a wedding or a date. It fits perfectly in my bag for a touch-up.
