Grandma?

Hmm...
We are dealing with 2 sides of the coin here. There is at the same time a nice, fresh and spicy scent and a grandmotherly one. The creator wanted to recreate a warm memory of a citrus garden and only partly succeeded.
This is a cheap product in terms of quality, expectedly not surprising for a fragrance sold in a drugstore.

On entry, it is a very pleasant citrus fragrance. We have a very agreeable juicy orange here. However, after a few moments, an obnoxiously strong cardamom turns it into a scent from our grandmother's wardrobe. Combined with the rosemary, the scent unfortunately gets even older. A little rescue is brought by the vetiver, but only for a short while as we are suffocated anew by the musk.

I highly discourage this fragrance for young people, I found out for myself. It is quite tiring after a short while and, as befits a cologne, extremely evanescent. For summer weather it may be too strong, more for early spring or autumn. Personally, I think the only saving grace is to pair this fragrance with something green and fresh to soften this imposing spiciness. And also, I wouldn't put it on the shelf of either gender, rather in between.

This is what summer sounds like

A vibrating, a humming, getting louder and then quieter again, in intensity
increasing only to become almost imperceptible afterwards.

The dry hot air seems to be permeated from everywhere.
This typical Mediterranean sound, for which the singing cicadas are responsible, lets me glide down, drift into the world of dreams.
Salty air coming from the sea reaches me
I see yellow butterflies leaving shimmering air with every flap of their wings, a shimmer like the air above a candle wick.
Only this shimmer smells of lemons, of salty lemons.
The butterflies feast on the nectar of the rosemary blossoms.
The dense rosemary by the house is in full bloom.
It is a small patch of rosemary, already completely woody, yet it attracts the lemon butterflies.

My wife comes out of the water
Just the scent of her wet, salty skin has revealed to me that she is lying next to me

Aqua Solis
starts citrusy fresh and a bit spicy
not piercingly alcoholic.
but rather a longing salty note
Over time, Aqua Solis becomes a bit herbaceous and for me, the fresh citrus note fades into the background.

The aroma of rosemary is never overpowering, rather well dosed.

For me, a really great surprise for summer

Since Aqua Solis was in a gnome package, I was even more delighted.

A refreshing summer breeze ideal for dining outside, and it lasts well for one to two "Tinto de Verano" lengths

If fragrances could make sounds, you would hear the singing cicadas when opening the bottle.

By the way, it just occurred to me that there are sounds that smell.............but that's a story for another time

Behold!

A pleasant surprise in the mainstream selection from Marionnaud... the promising presentation of the "Colognes Botaniques Intenses" caught my attention on this hot August day in Salzburg. I chose "Aqua Sacrae," and there was a 10ml sample from Aqua Solis.

Aqua Solis is a light cologne perfectly wearable for summer, surprising with its fig leaf note. (I don't find this in the description, but it strongly reminds me of Philosykos by Diptyque.)
A green, sharp, unsweet fig leaf note with even more greenery; I imagine chopped cacti.
Another association that the scent inevitably evokes for me is Hermès - Un Jardin sur le Nil. Sultry green notes and also a typically adult citrus peel note from Hermès.

Since the fragrance concentration of the cologne is naturally not outstanding, one shouldn't expect miracles regarding sillage, but the longevity on the skin is quite okay.

For the price, a definitely worthwhile investment.
