Lavender Lover
It has been a while since I bought 2 fragrances from Yardley,
Lavender Spa was the first, an EDT. At that time, I didn't want to spend much money on fragrances, but I wanted to smell well-groomed. I believe I belong to a rather large group of buyers (and I still set certain limits). I purchased it on eBay UK.
I was looking for a scent that makes me feel well-groomed,
that provides me with a sense of well-being - keyword "wellness" and
that wouldn't disturb anyone, as I work with sick people.
At some point in my life, I surely smelled the more well-known
"English Soaps" out of curiosity, and my impression is that the fragrance ingredients in the
lavender soap were also used for the EDT.
When I spray it on, I find the lavender particularly dominant, a quite
natural lavender scent, initially quite strong and alcoholic.
After a few minutes, a few other fragrance notes come into play,
but rather to help the lavender make a good appearance - I smell something vanilla-like, like tonka, also something spicy - woods, sandalwood, and musk.
Since lavender alone would be somewhat one-dimensional, a few other flowers are still
flattering my nose, which I cannot identify, only read about here.
Lavender, however, remains dominant until the base, which is reached quickly.
There it becomes a bit softer, warm - woody, slightly floral, and stays that way.
Whoever likes lavender and is fine with smelling as if they have thoroughly ; )
washed with lavender soap, who doesn't want to spend too much (around €15 / 50ml),
who wants to try something outside of natural cosmetics and doesn't shy away from tradition, or even loves it,
who, like me, enjoys spraying generously (the spa spray contains aloe vera, so it could also be used as a kind of splash or rather as a body spray) - will find this quite satisfactory.
The bottle is more practical than beautiful, but sprays well and has already
survived several falls. After I had used up half of the second 50ml bottle,
that was enough for me; I had grown tired of the scent, and I notice that even now,
when I just sprayed it on my arm again.
The longevity is not so bad compared to the sillage.
This is probably unisex; personally, I would find the scent somewhat strange on a man,
I think. For a young girl, I would probably recommend a slightly different direction from Yardley.
