Caribbean feeling for the quarry pond

To anticipate: The smell is really not mine!!!. Unfortunately (once again) I was seduced by enthusiastic comments and bought the set consisting of fragrance + oil + shower gel in the holiday preparation quasi in passing. Again and again it becomes apparent to me how different scents are perceived. What for some is the most wonderful scent, others can hardly smell.

Yves Rocher's Monoi is supposed to create a holiday feeling and remind you of summer holidays on the beach. That may be true for one or the other. Provided you have used a similar fragrance before or more often. The combination of vanilla and tiaré is used in many sun creams and especially in sun oils.

Now this is not the case with me, therefore I do not associate this smell in any way with holiday feelings. It smells like summer. Who likes the associated oil should not buy the fragrance blind because it is very different from it.

Now to the fragrance: It begins extremely heavy and sweet with ylang and tiaré flowery intense. I don't really smell coconut, but a very pungent note. The scent is so intense and pungent that it pulls down from the top floor and my husband asks if I'm using a new cleaner, but it would be very strong. After some time, this note fades away and the fragrance becomes milder and softer, reminiscent of exotic sun cream. Little by little the vanilla comes out and the scent is after about 2 hours quite pleasant to smell - but that takes too long for me.
Especially Ylang Ylang I like with pleasure but here the whole package is too heavy for me. But the scent is definitely suitable for the beach party at the excavator lake, because you will be noticed with it in any case: The Sillage is bombastic.
Dear Monoi Fans: Please don't be angry if you like the fragrance and like to wear it, that's fine. It's too intense for me in the early stages. But I was able to make a young lady happy with my set. She flew on holiday radiating joy with the oil, shower gel and perfume...

IGEL performance

The migraine is still in the husband's hands.

The prickly hedgehog performances of the husband delight me far less.

Tiare flowers caress my nose - and the vanilla is wonderfully soft.
Ylang has a sedative effect and you like to let five be straight.
A ukulele sounds from a distance - and weighs me down mildly.

When names are sound and smoke, and the eye doesn't know what's going on.

Since I've been at Parfumo, I have to be careful not to become a social fright. Not only because I always smell different and maybe funny, no, I show features of a narrowed world view.
What I sometimes notice negatively about others, that is to say about new parents, dog or even car owners who know nothing more about a topic of conversation than the detailed description of the smallest trifles concerning their darling; confessing hobby sportsmen who view their lives and the lives of others only from fitness and competition points of view, up to nutrition freaks whose thoughts and words revolve exclusively around food - I creepingly begin to show the traits of such quirks myself:
I have become accustomed to bringing a selection of scents to try out with invitations to friends. So that I don't have to carry 5 to 10 flacons with me, I usually use neutral pocket sprayers.

Last weekend, when Yves Rocher's Monoï Eau des Vahinés was among those to be tested, I came to the conclusion: "These neutral pocket sprayers, on which only the name of the fragrance is written in my hard to read handwriting, turn the tests into blind tests for my hosts.
Apart from Monoï Eau des Vahinés, I had six or seven other fragrances with me, all of them much more expensive, some of them niche brands.
And what was the result? The host had placed Imitation Woman of Amouage at number 1 and wanted to buy the fragrance for his wife, not knowing what it would cost him. The woman, however, did not like imitation and found Courtesan of Worth best for herself. He didn't like it in her again. So they wanted to take the scent they both found the second best: Monoï Eau des Vahinés by Yves Rocher.

They both found it pleasantly soft and warm, without being too overblown, well-balanced, flowery and summery, without appearing artificial or striking, at the same time something special that stands out from many everyday scents, yet not intrusive. A fragrance that gives its wearer naturalness, cheerfulness and class at the same time.
I feel the same way about him: Tiaré, a flower that is often staged too pompously for me, is in the foreground here in a pleasant way. I knew the older Tiaré scent of Yves Rocher, but it was with coconut and produced an intense South Sea feeling that was great on the one hand, but became too much for me after a while. Here now Tiaré is less traditionally set in scene with vanilla and I like that much better. Even after long wearing nothing annoys me anymore and the scent has changed from a pure leisure scent to a scent with the flair of class.
This is not least due to the type of vanilla that combines very well with tiaré and ylang-ylang, a vanilla that is rather light and not too sweet, even though Monoï Eau des Vahinés as a whole is already a rather sweet fragrance. There is something else special about this fragrance: it is creamy in its own way. I am always deterred by the word "creamy" in fragrance descriptions, as the cause in my nose usually turns out to be musk of the modern, boring and stuffy kind. Here it seems to be the tiaré flower itself that gives the impression of cream and makes the fragrance miraculously soft. The shelf life is good, at least 8 hours, the course rather linear. The Sillage is quite tidy, especially in the first hours.

Then I gave my friends the resolution. What a surprise: No scent of Chanel or Bvlgari, but a Yves Rocher.
And what a pleasure: The price difference between first and second place is about 250,00 € to Imitation Woman, about 45,00 € to Courtesan.

I'm happy for my girlfriend. And I ask myself: What would the test have been like if I had brought the original flacons instead of the pocket sprayers?

A soft, slightly powdery vanilla embraces me, comforts me, gives me confidence for the day. And very, very little I also smell it - the flower of flowers - Yling-Ylang. But it melts into a soft, warm finish. It is also used in aromatherapy for relaxing cramps and is usually found in Indonesia or Madagascar.

Suddenly I feel so calm inside, as I haven't felt in a long time. Everything that used to be so annoying seems so unimportant.
