A Decent Pink Perfume
How Yves Rocher stays in business is a mystery to me. Yet again, they have sent me an entire bottle of perfume for free. They had offered to send me "my favorite product," which they somehow have deduced from their database is TENDRE JASMIN from the Secrets d'Essence collection. In fact, it's not my favorite Yves Rocher product, nor my favorite Yves Rocher perfume, but they keep plying me with bottles, so perhaps in their database I own more bottles of that perfume than any of the others? I don't know.

Rather than accepting another free bottle of TENDRE JASMIN, this time I decided to call their customer service and see whether they'd send me something else instead. I ended up going for this relatively recent creation, MOMENT DE BONHEUR, in part because I noticed that it was designed by Annick Ménardo, the perfumer behind LOLITA LEMPICKA, Kenzo VINTAGE PEACE, and many other excellent perfumes.

The bottle is unattractive, so things get off to a bad start. Then upon spritzing some on I find that MOMENT DE BONHEUR is not very pleasant in the opening couple of minutes. It seems rather synthetic and low grade, and makes me wonder whether any of the ingredients boasted of on the box have any connection to the reality of the composition:

"Centifolia rose infusion and absolute, essential oils of geranium, cedar wood and patchouli."

However, after a couple of minutes, just as I am beginning to worry that the fragrance is going to begin expanding like the blog, as synthetic florals sometimes do, instead the composition starts smelling rather pleasant and even slightly spirit living. I won't say that this is a full-fledged member of the twenty-first century SSRI frag category, but it is definitely light-hearted and nice to smell. In some ways it reminds me of the rash of musky-rose-patchouli perfumes, except that in this case the musk is either very low key or else simply not detectable. The patchouli is also rather light as compared to most rose-patchouli perfumes available today.

By the drydown, I find that this is an appropriate fragrance for public scenarios such as the workplace or library. The sort of thing that I can spritz on while rushing out the door without giving it a second thought. Inoffensive and cleanish but without smelling like shampoo or cleaning products. Floral without smelling like a big bouquet. It's rather nice. The mystery remains: why did they send it to me for free?

Because there is no BAföG allowance for perfume (…)
(…), no tax exemption for fragrance addicts and no scrappage bonus for discarded perfume loves, I am happy that there is “Moment de Bonheur.”

If your wish list is too long to fit in “Chloé” by Chloé, then go for “Moment de Bonheur”! You’ll definitely get a good dose of sparkling-fresh laundry rose here. While “Chloé” is a bit more complex and long-lasting, the alternative is not bad at all.

Instead of a pepper note and lychee, there’s something clean-green here. But fundamentally, the two fragrances are quite similar. Probably due to the pronounced clean spiciness (whatever that may be like in “Moment de Bonheur”) and the very obvious, bright cedar that significantly shapes both scents.

As I said: squeaky clean laundry rose à la “Chloé EdP,” without much fuss, without a notable scent progression, but at Yves Rocher prices. At least that’s what my nose claims. And that’s good: My piggy bank is having a party!!

Moments of Happiness in the Most Beautiful Way!
Oh, what criticism Papa Yves has had to endure for his little fragrances. Yet the perfumers at Yves Rocher are always very committed to offering high-quality scents that are also appealing to the masses at moderate prices. Now and then, they have succeeded, for example, with the long-standing Ming Shu.

The soliflore scents of recent years (Jasmine, Rose, Iris, Amber, and Vanilla) have also been well received by customers. I often found Yves Rocher's fragrances too sweet for my taste; for instance, Evidence pour Femme or So Elixier are, in my opinion, overly sweetened, giving off a (please don't misunderstand) slightly "cheap" impression due to this synthetic sweet note.
However, there are also fragrances that can definitely handle sweetness or where it is even necessary! The Noel scents, for example, I cannot imagine without a certain sweetness.

To clarify: I really enjoy using Yves Rocher's shower gels, but I am not necessarily a fan of the fragrances. Most of them have left me faster than they arrived.

As a rose lover, I had to at least try the new one from Papa Yves, Moment de Bonheur, which I was able to do thanks to the sample mini bottle that was sent to me. And what can I say! Today, the 50 ml bottle plus a travel spray (which was a gift) has joined my collection.

Moment de Bonheur - in German "Moment of Happiness" - is a very successful rose scent from Yves Rocher that does not shy away from comparison with major brands.

A very fresh, green opening is followed by the rose, specifically a delicate, pink rose, accompanied by various fine spices. They give the rose exactly what it needs: spice, without taking away its rosy beauty.

The base is emphasized by rosewood; patchouli here is absolutely not musty or earthy, etc., but provides a fine, soft warmth.

The sillage is quite weak; the scent is only perceptible close to the wearer, but the longevity is acceptable for the price.

Nothing here is intrusive or sweet or cloying; rather, it is a beautiful, green, and unsweetened rose scent. All in all, a very successful and perfectly balanced composition, which I wish to have at least as long a lifespan as Ming Shu has already achieved.

Congratulations to the house of Yves Rocher for this successful rose scent, which is currently available at an introductory price including a travel spray. Anyone who loves green, unsweetened rose - go for it! It's worth it.

Pleasant Rose Scent for the Coming Spring
Since I already know or own many Yves Rocher fragrances, I had to test this one as well. My mother ordered a mascara from Yves Rocher and received a small sample of this fragrance as a gift. She gave me the sample because she knew I had wanted to try this scent for a long time :)). I took a small drop from the sample and dabbed it on my wrist, waited a minute or two, then smelled my wrist...

While sniffing my wrist, I perceived the floral notes most intensely; they are neither overpowering nor too strong, just very fresh and feminine rose notes. I honestly admit that I am not a big fan of rose fragrances, but this one is simply beautiful. It is pleasant, feminine, clean, and above all, suitable for everyday wear. I find that this fragrance is very nice for the upcoming spring ;). I noticed very subtle spicy notes in the scent development, and it was exactly this spiciness that made the fragrance journey more interesting and beautiful! On my skin, I could perceive this scent for almost half the day; over time, this fragrance becomes slightly powdery, but that didn't bother me personally since I am used to it with Yves Rocher fragrances.

A bit of hairspray in there, otherwise floral, fresh, sweet. Cheerful and feminine. Beautiful bottle.

A rose is a green is a rose.
*together with a bit of patchouli, it's even slightly earthy*

Woody-powdery-fresh olfactory rose dream. Much more pleasant than Chloe and for me the most beautiful rose scent.

Soft rose on a gentle cedar bed. Delicate green-pink, soft fuchsia to smell. Opens the heart. Feminine, tender, romantic, friendly.

Delicate spring blossoms combine with wood and patchouli. A green hint of mosses. It smells wonderful! If only it lasted longer!

I first thought: "Chloe? Not really!" But then I tested it again. Chloe's top note is the heart of MdB. Not identical, but almost.
