My Favorite Summer Companion
The brand Yves Rocher has been with me since my childhood!:)) And to be honest, I think that's great!:D
My mother always bought her cosmetics or fragrances, as well as skincare products there:))
(Even today, we are both big Yves Rocher fans;D)
Every time my mother shopped at Yves Rocher, she bought me the Monoi shampoo because I LOVED*.* it.
Every time I bathed with it, the whole bathroom smelled for almost two days like the beach, the sea, and lots of sunshine:D
I don't know what it is, but every time I even just sniff the shampoo or the oil, I feel like I'm hypnotized...
Normally, I don't really like summer fragrances...
So far, only the Tom Ford eau de soleil blanc edt (which is unfortunately too expensive for me) and the beautiful Monoi have enchanted and seduced me:)))
Most summer fragrances from the perfumery smell almost the same to my nose...
Soapy, floral, citrusy, and sooooo on.... But Monoi is a completely different scent...
I would say it's an Oriental-Floral-Summer fragrance...
So far, I haven't discovered a single fragrance in the perfumery that even comes close to Monoi...
Of all the Yves Rocher fragrances, I find Monoi to be the most beautiful perfume in the fragrance range!:))
I hope and wish from the bottom of my heart that Yves Rocher will never remove this treasure from their collection...!
Now let's get to the more interesting part;))
The fragrance description....;)
The scent...
starts off for me very creamy and sensual upon spraying, even though there is no coconut note listed, I think I can occasionally smell it.
The coconut note is very delicate and milky... Simply summery:))
The Tiare is wonderfully sensual and captivating at the same time*.*
It is also very creamy on my skin but also sweet, but NOT overwhelmingly sweet; it is just PERFECT! Neither too sweet nor too fresh.
I only smell the vanilla when the fragrance becomes close to the skin.
But the vanilla also gives the scent a lovely warm note with a certain something.
Many summer fragrances are very fresh and almost cold, but Monoi is warm like pleasant spring sunshine and simultaneously fresh like a gentle sea breeze.
I personally find the scent progression very pleasant and beautiful as this fragrance never becomes too strong/overwhelming on the skin.
The longevity could be better (3-4 hours) but since I only wear Monoi in the summer, that's fine with me:)
For me, this is THE perfect summer fragrance that I am very satisfied with but also extremely love and appreciate!:))

simple and beautiful.
Ohhh, I love the scent!

The perfume fever has caught me, and for the past few weeks, I've been trying out new fragrances, ordering samples, or sometimes, due to the situation, making a somewhat unreasonable blind purchase.
Student budget - and accordingly, often more of a disappointment than joy with the cheap drugstore scents.
But last week, I ordered some odds and ends from Yves Rocher and added a free sample size of Monoi at checkout (I had heard that this scent is a dupe for Terracotta by Guerlain - I can't confirm that yet, but the bottle is on its way :D ).
So after days of impatient waiting, I unwrapped my package, full of anticipation, and I was not disappointed!
After many attempts to find some affordable summer scents, I have finally come much closer to my goal!
I tried fresh or floral scents, but something always bothered me. Too much like toilet cleaner, too much like air freshener, too sweet...ugh.
Monoi, on the other hand, is not fresh, a bit warm-floral, sweet, but creamy-sweet, which gives me a lovely wellness feeling. At first, there's sweetness right in your face, but the sweetness fades significantly for me after a short time. Monoi smells like freshly applied lotion and pleasantly sun-warmed. I don't know if I would still want to wear it at 40 degrees, but to push the feeling of spring a bit into summer...amazing!
It hardly changes, and it's not particularly "interesting," I must add.
But I find it, in the truest sense of the word: simple and beautiful!
So far, I haven't felt like I was getting on anyone's nerves (which might also be due to its modest longevity).
My boyfriend even really likes it, so it passed the ultimate test, and I immediately ordered a double pack in the original size :D (200 ml for €30)
Now it's time for a scent shopping withdrawal!
I must say, now that I've found my spring-summer scent, I hope it will be easier for me!

Stay healthy

Sun in a Bottle
Actually, I am a declared rose fan, but in the summer, I allowed myself a fling with YR's Monoi. I left it at my in-laws' in Brittany to find it again now at Christmas. I found the idea amusing to have a fragrance associated with a specific place and time. A lot has been written about the year 2020 - and there isn't much positive to report. The longing for harmony and security is growing stronger. Monoï Vague d'Eté is just the right thing for that. It's not exactly cold outside, but today it's stormy and the wind is sweeping around the house. I sniff the bottle and immediately memories of warm, sunny summer days come rushing back. The interplay of Tiaré and vanilla caresses the skin. Together with the body oil, it feels like summer lasts forever, that life is light and positive. Monoï Vague d'Eté is a soul soother.

Sun, Beach, and Sea...
I wear it in combination with the matching body spray, and I really have to say... my all-time favorite companion through the summer. It smells so beautifully fresh, but not like soap, rather like the pleasant breeze of a tropical summer day. At the heart of the fragrance, the Monoï blossom unfolds, enveloped by creamy coconut and a hint of exotic flowers. I just feel good when I spray it on and feel like I'm on the beach in Hawaii for an unbeatable price.

Flowers in the Hair and the Sun in the Heart
In Polynesia, this is wonderfully true. Their culture is as colorful and intense as I could never describe the scent itself.

Unbiased love for others, positivity, living in the moment, openness, lightheartedness, their rituals, deities, colorful nature, beach, and yes, the sun, in all its radiant power..

Maybe you still remember the South Seas melodrama "Mutiny on the Bounty"? The enchanting leading lady embodies, at least for me, exactly this pure-hearted girl with flowers in her hair and the sun in her heart.

Her name was Tarita Teriipaia. An exotic dancer, and she was very young, too young, when she captivated a hardened actor with her natural charm. She must have worn a hint of Monoi in her hair when she succeeded with Mr. Brando. Unlike him, however, her Monoi remained true.. :')

This fabulously sweet, coral-orange-red-to-pink Polynesian scent accompanies me for almost two whole days until it bids a tender farewell from my skin with its last, longing vanilla note.

On the Bounty, it then sails proudly towards its homeland, the sunset..

It wants to return to its Tarita - and I know it wants to because it fits her perfectly. For Monoi is like her: It loves its neighbors unconditionally, it radiates positivity, with it, one lives in the moment, it embodies openness, lightheartedness, their rituals, deities, their colorful nature, the beach, and yes, the sun, in all its radiant power.

You are Monoi..

A drop of fragrance from white flowers, coconut, and vanilla. Pure sunscreen and sandy beach vibes! It rivals many "luxury scents."

Not really my thing, but in this dreary time when all you want is to be by the sea, one of the loveliest companions. Warm, heartfelt!

It smells like sunscreen and deep brown skin. I can feel the heat, taste the salt, and feel the sand on my feet...

for me hardly any difference to the predecessor, South Sea feeling at a great price. One of the last YR classics.

I do love the shower gel from the line. But as a perfume, it’s just not my thing. Squeaky sweet sunset by the sea.

For me, it's 1:1 Montale Intense Tiare with slightly weaker sillage.

Take sun-kissed Tiare and Ylang flowers. Dry them and add vanilla powder. Voilà - a powdery warm summer sun scent.
