Zara Gold

Say what you will about Zara but it can't be denied that they make some pretty solid scents. This one is most definitely a dupe of Paco Rabanne Black XS and I for one, love it! I actually prefer this copy-cat over the original fragrance as it doesn't give me a headache when I wear it and doesn't suffocate me. It's lighter and fresher but still has the same vibe as the one it's modelled after. It's a little fruity and a little spicy but remains soft and cozy throughout and completely non-intrusive.
Lasting power is good, better than I expected. Certainly not as long as Black XS would last but still quite respectable. I loved smelling this on myself all day today, incredibly pleasing and easy to wear!
So cost-effective as well. I paid 9.99 CAD for a 30 ml. bottle. For that price, you can bathe in it so have fun and spray away!!!

Worth a try

Smells very nice, very similar to Paco Rabanne Black XS but with less sillage and longevity. But also it is more cheaper !!!

Worth a try, if you love Black XS and u wanna have a cheap scent to use more often than your expensive Black XS.

Zara "bleu" ?

The opening features bergamot and a mild, but not too sweet or terribly sour lemon, accompanied by slightly aquatic nuances. Then, a vaguely defined woodiness emerges. There's also a tiny hint of cinnamon that hides in the minimal woody thicket.
The citrusy and watery notes last just about 2 hours, and the fragrance breaks down into an ISO E Super base, disappearing into nothingness after 3-4 hours.

If we only consider the first 1.5 hours, one might recognize a second-degree relation, slightly fragile and delicate in constitution, to a well-known bleu water from a world-famous fashion house: let's say with both eyes closed and fingers crossed behind the back.

At least it's pocket money friendly and earns a mouse-gray rating in the form of a neutral score +/- 0 on a nerve scale from 0 to 10; thus, it is extremely suitable for everyday use for young people of both genders.

Golden Pineapple

Anyone who has read my blog post will surely have noticed my attitude towards perfume comments, but as I mentioned in a comment there, my comments don't always have to be linked to a grand story, and I also enjoy reading other comments very much. And I thought, why only write comments about scents that I like? As long as writing is fun for me, everything is fine.

So much for the prologue, because today it’s actually about Zara Gold.

The funny part started in the store; I was at Zara and actually wanted Zara Man Gold, but I couldn't quite remember the name. So there I was in front of the fragrance shelf, and I only knew the name "Gold" and that it should somehow smell like chocolate and be very sweet. Well, I found a bottle that said "Gold" on it, and it was golden too. Everything was great. Sprayed a bit on a test strip. Hmm, somehow this doesn't smell like chocolate; sweet, yes, but more like pineapple. But maybe it will develop, and the fragrance only costs 12€, so off to the checkout. Once home, I realized my mistake, got a bit annoyed, but I didn’t mind the scent I had bought, so the annoyance quickly faded.

However, I now find Zara Gold bad; maybe it’s because a year ago I was just starting out and have since smelled so much better. In my opinion, Zara Gold has no real scent progression; there is such an overwhelming sweetness from the start that it makes you feel sick, and even though pineapple is not listed, I can only detect that note throughout the entire fragrance. Even this smells so artificial that it can't be called a good scent.

I was surprised at how much my taste in fragrances changes once you delve deeper into them, and thanks to Parfumo, I was able to discover many new scents that I like much better. So, Zara Gold is basically just a remnant of my old collection.

Because by now, I find both scents terrible: Zara Gold and Zara Man Gold.
