An easy Amber for everyone, men and women!

Zara Amber Ego is a scent tending to sweet that can be worn indiscriminately by both boys and girls. It is a perfume that follows today's trends of sweet and easy fragrances. Perhaps more suitable for a Young audience. Packaging and bottle are nice and well designed. The price is exceptional: 10.95 euros per 100 ml. My nose smells of vanilla with hints of white woods and soft spices. It is pleasant and, while sweet, not cloying. Its ease of use and fragrance makes it interesting and captivating. It lasts the correct time on the skin. Suitable for a cold season. Despite being very economical It has a certain finesse and subtle elegance. If you like perfumes, like me, tending to sweet-gourmant I think it's worth trying!

Stronger With You Tenderly

So, I was drawn to this cologne after reading and listening to a myriad of reviews that compare it with Emporio Armani Stronger With You. I didn't pay too much attention to this collection when it came out on the market, which includes Blue Spirit, Red Mind and Gray Soul, as I was more interested in the Jo Malone's collection released at the same time. Guess what? I like Amber Ego.

Sweet and warm scents like trendsetter Paco Rabanne Pure XS, 1 Million, Invictus, or CH Man, JPG Ultramale, Obsessed for Men by Calvin Klein, YSL Y, Kenzo PH Parfum, and Azzaro Wanted, or the Armani AdG Absolu. All of them built around the prevalent synthetic ambergris molecule: ambroxan. Anyway, Amber Ego itself is built out from the ambrox with cardamom and violet instead. So, if you are fond of any of those above, you will appreciate this one.

The opening is rather fresh, fruity, and sweet, and there are a light citrus accord and a bit stronger apple vibe that is sparkling, with a minty nuance in the background, reminiscent of 1 Million Lucky and Privé. Hence, the overall opening, to many of you, might be similar to Invictus. Yet, everyone judges it based on the initial spray on paper, and this is not another Invictus clone. I think it's lazy to say this smells like Invictus because there's so much more going on. Give it some time. Cardamom is minty yet not overwhelming, some spicy pink pepper, and a tiny wedge of citrus fruit to help it carry. Mostly warm spice on a bed of sweetened ambrox is what hits the nose right away. The freshness present keeps the sweetness from becoming too heavy or cloying and helps give it some airiness.

Further development on down the line after initial sprays leads to a thin violet leaf (ALPHA-ISOMETHYL IONONE) that slightly recalls Dior Fahrenheit, something which has become more popular to do once again as the note mixes admittedly well with ambergris real or fake. A fainty lavender and substantial clary sage element help dry out the mixture just a bit, and it's an ever-faithful combo that has been appearing in masculine-marketed fragrances since time immemorial, serving as it usually does here. The heart is even a tad spicy, sweet-spicy, and I guess it is due to cinnamon (Eugenol) that is listed in the ingredients.

Beyond that, the base is pretty standard for the latter half of this decade, converging on ambroxan and norlimbanol molecules, or amber woods accord, but flanked with vanilla and a sugar-coated roasted nutty accord, slightly smoky. I do get the cedarwood vibe here and there, it is not outstanding, yet it is part of the dry down.

Ok then, Amber Ego is prone to a lot of hate, but I get lots of compliments when wearing it. It does project well and lasts a good while on the skin. It has a moderate-heavy projection for the first 3 hours, and then a light-moderate projection for about five remaining hours. The overall sweet-oriental-gourmand accords make it perfect for cold seasons, late Fall and Winter, and evening events. All in all, a pretty lovely vanilla fragrance! Still reasonably heavy but fresh and uplifting enough to shine in cold weather.

I just felt like commenting on a random scent for over 6 hours that I haven't worn often; I might do this more often :D

Mega beautiful opening, unfortunately with an alcoholic note in the first minute, but then purely sweet. A bit teenage-like, but it is a Zara fragrance after all..
Sweet artificial cinnamon, so not a cinnamon stick but the cinnamon aroma found in food, it lacks the bitterness. It becomes a bit too penetrating, somehow sharp, but after 10 minutes that also fades and it becomes surprisingly good. A bit woody mixed with cleanliness. So not really shower gel, not really basic soapy. It smells clean but with woods. It somehow becomes a bit nuttier and delicious, has those One Million vibes in the so-called Stronger with You imitation without smelling like One Million. Then this lighter freshness comes in, the sweetness, this yes.. "coconut water," even though coconut water smells different, not like sweet watery coconut mush, which it isn't here either, but it is sweet and reminds a bit of coconut flavor drops in thin concentration, which coconut water really isn't. It lacks the bitterness and is too sweet, but it was already like that before... Overall, it's really a sweet scent with various woody facets, partly going into the beefy, partly into the tropical, and partly into the... nutty direction, but overall a well-wearable fragrance for a modest price that doesn't clash anywhere and can be approached without analytical thinking.. yes, it smells good. Sweet, wood, warm, fits. If I don't think about it and the scent were on a buddy in the car next to me, I would perceive it, not waste thoughts on it, and not be disgusted; it's just a perfume that is very pleasing, unfortunately not outstanding or particularly good in its discipline. You can definitely wear it, and if you need to rush and don't have any perfume with you, just pop into Zara, grab a bottle, and spray on 6 spritzes; that's enough for a date, gym, or anywhere it should be pleasing and can have teenage vibes. For a job interview, business dinner, or opera visit... not really suitable.

Yes, this is where things get exciting. It's all about the hustle and bustle here. Sweet candies. It starts off strong with plum, so it's suitable for bodybuilders and philosophers alike and is meant "for mystical nights" - that's what it says on the label!

First, we are invited to eat. A lot of fullness with cinnamon and sugar. Cardamom is in the mix, patchouli is splashing around, and the plates are decorated with little herbs. Everything is quite sweet. Amber sweet. The full blast. We eat with wooden spoons, which are more cut from mahogany than cedar. The drinks are dedicated to the abundance. Coconut water. Sweet. Smooth.

With handfuls, we cream our bodies, lie down in the solarium, to think and enjoy, to sweat healthily and to become amber brown. For hours. To chamber. Because the dessert is postponed and only served in the early dawn.

Then a hint of apple fits in. Instead.
