Neee,... äh... Hä??
And once again we have a fragrance with a rather strange, almost funny name, something that could even cause confusion.
“Good day, do you have the fragrance Nèh?!”
“Uhh,… Hä??”
“No, but almost. Not Hä, but Neh!”
“Uhh,… näh??”
“Um,… did you just repeat the fragrance name or did you say nee, as in no?”
Well,… sometimes it can be difficult to search for specific fragrances in a perfume shop, as mentioned, certain fragrance names can cause confusion. Although Nèh?! should still be manageable… it’s certainly better than shouting: “I’m looking for the Palace Whore!” (Putain des Palaces by Etat Libre) :D
But let’s see how this fragrance smells first!
The fragrance:
The scent starts sweetly powdery, you can smell the violets and in the background the iris. The talcum likely provides a particularly powdery note, making the fragrance softer or smoother, but not dry, rather in a creamy way.
I don’t know what combination it is, but I also smell something similar to cotton candy, which then turns out to be candied almonds (e.g. from the Christmas market).
The opoponax creates a smoky scent cloud, but it’s not too strong here. The almond scent is a bit weaker later on, but still noticeable for a while. Otherwise, the fragrance remains sweet and beautifully powdery. A few hours later, however, you can only smell the violets and the iris.
The sillage and longevity:
The projection is better than expected (for a powdery fragrance) and you can perceive it from a short distance for a brief time. Then, unfortunately, it returns to normal and you have to get closer.
The fragrance lasts about eight to nine hours, but after five hours, you can hardly smell anything and in my opinion, it should be reapplied shortly after.
The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular and has a reflective label on the front with the name and brand on it. In other pictures, you can also see a white label, but I don’t know which one is the current bottle. It’s not particularly special, but it’s not ugly either. So, it’s quite okay.
Actually, it was almost clear from the fragrance list here that Nèh?! must be a great fragrance. I mean iris, talcum… all beautiful “ingredients” for a lovely, powdery scent. But I didn’t expect the almond note, and I think it makes the fragrance even better, although it also shifts it a bit into the autumn/winter season, although it still works in spring. Of course, the almond scent is weaker later on, so I would still describe the fragrance as an all-rounder.
It would be great for going out, but unfortunately, it’s a bit weak for that, so I would recommend it more as a casual fragrance or as a cozy scent.
Despite the strange (but cool) name, it’s definitely worth a test, right? Um… I meant Nèh?! … and here we go again :D
But as I said, I would definitely give it a try!
