what fragrance would you wear to rally an entire desert?
It's impossible to talk about Arab perfumery without mentioning (once again) Lawrence of Arabia.
Yes, I know. After imagining the fragrance he would wear while galloping across the desert, and the one he would choose when back in his British officer's uniform, here he is at evening gatherings deep in the heart of the desert, meeting tribal leaders.
First, notes of peach and almond, so typical of the region’s perfumery. Then the rose — inevitable — deepened by the seriousness of jasmine and magnolia.
Finally, the captivating charm and underlying authority expressed through woods, vanilla, and tonka bean.
It takes just the right blend of strength and charm to unite tribes who have been at odds for centuries.
Lawrence of Arabia did just that.
And you — what fragrance would you wear to rally an entire desert?
