Rejoicing too soon ...
i'm just venturing into the world of tea notes and I have to say it's a journey full of surprises. I'm not normally into green or citrusy fragrances, but you have to try everything, right? When I first sniffed the bottle, I was immediately blown away - I could clearly smell matcha and rice. And there I was, faced with the question: can I really get excited about greener fragrances?
The rice unfurled fluffily and brought with it a kind of lactonic warmth. Combined with the powdery matcha, the first impression was quite intriguing. But then, on the test strip, came the big disappointment. After just 5 minutes, the whole story took a U-turn. My personal nightmare became a reality - the initially promising fragrance suddenly turned into a citrusy fuzz with a hint of powderiness. As if that wasn't enough, it became even sweeter and more synthetic as it progressed. As is so often the case with contemporary fragrances, the base is creamy, but the bergamot here stubbornly refuses to fade into the background.
And then the question: why on earth is this fragrance associated with Mumbai? Personally, I would not have made the association with the Indian metropolis at all. Rice as a note fits very well, but the rest is totally incomprehensible as a concept ... The matcha and rice notes were great, but after that everything just became citrusy and ended in the familiar vanilla. What a pity...
