Two excellent for me perfume potcast writers made me stumble upon this fragrance and its perfumer.
Marissa Zappas, who created this fragrance, lives in Brooklyn, has Greek roots and is stirring up the American perfume scene with her unconventional creations. An article in the New York Times and Warhol's Interview Magazine have already profiled her.
She works for herself and is therefore independent, which is reflected in her work. In other words, she does what you want and to which you are guided by her muse.
Flaming creature is a quirky burlesque film from the 60s, which at the time because of the nude scenes caused an uproar and was temporarily banned.
Inspired by this film, we have here a fragrance that starts with a "lollipop" note paired with the jasmine soft and anything but intrusive. As it progresses, the pepper and incense join it. Loud is this perfume never and acts "well blended".
All in all, a great and unusual perfume, as it extends classic ingredients with an unconventional note in the form of the "Candy".
A downer is the sillage which weakens a bit. But Ms. Zappas is itself a delicate appearance and thus it is also forgiven.
I'm happy about this fragrance in my collection because I like creative minds that do not shy away from the rocky path of independence and can not be subjugated.
