Spicy honey floral, quite rich and well-blended
This is my first try of Serenade, one of the two newest releases from Motif Olfactif (the other being Moments), which mainly resonates with me as a resinous, floral, sweet, and spicy blend, with a fascinating note breakdown of ylang ylang, jasmine, honey, bergamot, oud, amber, and musk. The note list feels very appropriate, as there is sort of a spicy-honey-meets-white-floral predominance to the whole blend that feels right, with a very measured amount of oud, as it is just a touch animalic. But the overall blend feels like a rich honeyed, spicy, floral mix, with the florals not being too overwhelming, themselves, but clearly there amidst the relatively bold honey.
Serenade is priced at $145 for 50ml in EDP concentration and it performs very well; it feels appropriately quite dense, which works really well for the spicy honey side of it, especially, and while having some year-round applicability, I would look forward to wearing this in the colder weather more so than the warm weather.
