Le Réveil Pictura Fragrans 2024

Fruity, Musky, & slightly animalic with some chocolate. The strawberry, chocolate, & rum notes stick out to me the most. Synthetic and beautiful smelling fragrance. Starts off really sweet and dries down more animalic. Also it is perfectly unisex. Everything works together perfectly. I own 2 bottles, I have a older one from one of the first batches and then had to repurchase since its so good.

This is weird! The opening was boring, ethyl maltol (duh), but the scent took a really weird turn for the better, all the goat notes started to come through together with strawberry and white chocolate. This is a really messed up semi-gourmand, and I like it. Imagine you got a gift basket full of white chocolates and strawberries, and you own a goat farm. So, one of your goats got into the basket and ate half of it before you could pull her away! Now this goat's milk tastes like strawberries :D The dry-down is a really weird strawberry goat milkshake, fun!

Le reveil opens up with sweet and juicy strawberries, with that white chocolate giving the scent that creaminess. Once it dries down it becomes sort of an animalic strawberry shortcake type of smell with just a touch of oud in the base, becoming more lactonic the longer it stays on my skin. 8/10

I've smelled two scents from Pictura. I hate em both. I can't imagine anyone wanting to smell like this. Imagine a Mcdonald's strawberry milkshake. You can feel the vanilla, the strawberry, the sweetness. Now imagine you're standing on a petting farm, it has rained, and you are standing next to a goat with a long coat of fur. The dampness, the rankness, the smell of the goat itself permeate your nostrils as you try to enjoy your shake. Disgusted, you run away and throw your poor shake away:(

To shift from a gourmand to an animalic scent is not easy. The opening is a overture of strawberrries: good ones, not synthetical (I'm looking at you, Cape Heartache...). The chocolate is not really noticeable on my skin, but still, the perfume starts as a gourmand. Fruity, sweet, juicy. Just a bit boozy. Okay. The evolution is the really interesting part of it; its like you are in a farm, you got a nice basket of just-picken strawberries, and as soon as you get one your goat decided "Oh! That's for me?" and without waiting for an answer started chewing on them. The goat fur is nice, but not too heavy (sad! I love goat fur notes), but the goat milk! It mixes deliciously with the strawberries, and even if vanilla is listed at the end of the pyramid I can't feel it getting less sweet, thankfully. I'm in love with the dry down of this perfume, goat milk and a bit of truffle, mixed with the sweetness (softened) from the opening...
