Synthetic watermelon
Very powerful opening of synthetic watermelon and refreshing aquatic notes lasting from the first spray, throughout to the drydown. Delicate notes of coconut and white flowers are present, so is a whisper of camomile and vanilla. The watermelon turns into a honeydew with time - sweeter and denser.
Impressive longevity, however the strength of the scent is harsh on the nostrils. There’s a potential for nausea, therefore I would not dare to go beyond two sprays.
Summery and youthful fragrance. Makes me think of surfing, even though I’ve never surfed.

Mundane sunscreen scent
I didn’t get much fruitiness at all. Basically went straight to a sweetish sunscreen scent of light coconut and white florals. Maybe other batches have the watermelon, or maybe I’m anosmic to whatever compound they used.

Doesn’t seem to project much, but gets very cloying if you overspray.

A meh from me.

What else can I say to meet this stupid word count? This perfume does not deserve too many words.

As a man I would wear Shiyaaka Silver instead, or maybe JPG Le Beau if I loved smelling like coconut. If I were a woman, there are a multitude of better options, starting with Veneno Bianco.

French Avenue Atlantis vs. Lattafa Ana Abiyedh Coral (Room 1015 Wavechild Dupe)
I must admit, I have never tested the original, but I was already familiar with an alternative to Wavechild: the "Ana Abiyedh Coral / انا الابيض كورال | Lattafa / لطافة".
I had a decant of it and liked the scent, but found it a bit too feminine.
That's why I decided not to purchase a bottle.
The "Atlantis | French Avenue," on the other hand, is significantly more unisex in comparison, which convinced me right away.

Before I delve into the differences, I would like to briefly describe the scent.
It is surprisingly uncomplicated.

From the opening to the drydown, a beautiful, sweet, and simultaneously zesty-fresh watermelon dominates.
Since I wasn't familiar with the fragrance notes beforehand, I looked it up and found that Parfumo also lists orange in the top notes.
That makes sense, as the perceived freshness indeed comes from the orange.
However, the watermelon is so dominant that the orange probably fades into the background for many noses.

There is a clear similarity to the "Ana Abiyedh Coral / انا الابيض كورال | Lattafa / لطافة."
With the Lattafa, however, I also perceive a peach note that gives the fragrance a feminine touch.
The watermelon in Atlantis also seems a bit more authentic, although there is a noticeable bubblegum note present here as well.
In general, I find the quality of French Avenue to be higher.

In the drydown, further differences emerge:
While I hardly smell coconut in the Lattafa, it appears a bit more prominently here.
The watermelon and orange remain in the foreground, but the coconut adds a creamy, tropical note that elevates the fragrance to a higher level.
It creates a truly beautiful summer scent that smells of sweet, "bubblegummy" watermelon, zesty orange, and a subtle, creamy coconut until the end.

In my opinion, the performance could be better.
Some influencers refer to the scent as "Beast Mode," which I cannot confirm.
The longevity is good, but the sillage and projection are rather moderate.
When I wore it recently while shopping and sprayed generously, I only perceived it subtly.

However, it is also a relatively new batch, and Arabic fragrances can mature over time.
One should not expect a beast, though.
This gentle projection can also be an advantage, for example, in the office or generally at work, as it doesn't disturb anyone.

Conclusion:
As mentioned at the beginning, the Atlantis is slightly more masculine than the Lattafa, but still remains unisex (M60%/40%W).
I am absolutely thrilled with this fragrance.
I have always wanted a good melon scent, and the Atlantis is exactly what I was looking for.
I already own two bottles and am considering buying a third; I can only recommend it.

However, one should not buy it blindly.
When I look at the reviews, not everyone is as satisfied as I am.
But I personally am very happy to have it in my collection.

Ana Abiyedh - Coral 2.0 or something different?
"Atlantis" is a fragrance I have been waiting for and looking forward to for a long time.
I like watermelon in fragrances and was already familiar with "Ana Abiyedh Coral / انا الابيض كورال | Lattafa / لطافة," which I liked. However, I was concerned that Atlantis might be too similar to it.

The fragrance opens with a very delicious sweet, intense, and juicy watermelon. While the melon does not smell like a freshly cut fruit, I find it to be more authentic and not quite as synthetic as in "Ana Abiyedh Coral / انا الابيض كورال | Lattafa / لطافة."
Coconut joins the melon, which is noticeable but dominated by the watermelon. I would estimate the ratio of melon to coconut at 70/30.

After a few minutes, the orange comes to the forefront. It adds another fresh and sweet note to the fragrance and emphasizes its fruitiness.

Although no woody notes are listed, I perceive the fragrance in the drydown as slightly woody, which makes it feel a bit more masculine than in the opening.
For me, the sweet watermelon, refreshing orange, and creamy coconut remain present and in focus throughout the entire fragrance journey.

The longevity is good.
I can perceive the fragrance for several hours; however, it does not project excessively, and the sillage is rather moderate.

"Atlantis" is a unisex fragrance that develops a slightly masculine note for me in the drydown.

In summary, I can say that I really like "Atlantis | French Avenue."
It is a beautiful fresh, sweet melon fragrance that fits perfectly into summer.
In my opinion, you can't go wrong with it.
Aside from the initial melon note, it has little resemblance to "Ana Abiyedh Coral / انا الابيض كورال | Lattafa / لطافة."
While in "Coral," the peach also comes through prominently alongside the melon, in "Atlantis," the coconut combined with the fresh orange takes center stage.
For this reason, Atlantis is an independent fragrance for me.
Anyone who likes "Ana Abiyedh Coral / انا الابيض كورال | Lattafa / لطافة" but finds it too feminine or is looking for a fresher and slightly aquatic melon fragrance with a subtle coconut note should definitely test this fragrance.

Some things should remain a myth
Atlantis...

The mythical island realm. Mysterious & exciting. Sunken, but never forgotten.

Unfortunately, French Avenue's "Atlantis" offers none of this vibe.

By far my most disappointing blind buy to date. Expected so much more. :-(

The packaging and bottle are very appealing and beautifully done, typical of French Avenue.

In the opening, I had a piercing synthetic melon scent in my nose. The remaining notes? Absolutely nonexistent.

In the dry down, a musty coconut note remains. I find it simply not pleasant at all and I don't like smelling it. Moreover, it definitely leans more towards the feminine side for me.

If someone had told me that this was a €8.99 Rossmann fragrance aimed at 16-year-old girls, I would have signed off on that.

Absolutely not for me. Such a shame, French Avenue. :-(

For me, this is the first watermelon scent that isn't a fail; otherwise, I always think of toilet cleaner. Refreshing, beautiful, and absolutely unisex.

For me, it's only somewhat unisex. It leans more towards the feminine side. Unfortunately, no authentic watermelon.

Worn three times, watermelon is unnatural, overall too little freshness, too overpowering for summer, good H/S.

For me, it's clearly a unisex scent! A really lovely summer fragrance with watermelon and coconut, and it has a good sillage.
