Spiced Gourmand with a Liqueur Spark
It's a beautiful scent, I can understand the hype. A standard, vanilla+tonka bean base creates a warm, ambery background for all the spices and the cashmere helps smooth it all out, adding richness to the fragrance. In a way, it reminds me of Vulcan Sable, but this one has much more prominent licquer-like brightness to it that I really enjoy, while the other goes into a mellow chocolate territory. There is a slight powdery quality to it, but I cannot connect it to a particular note.
Unfortunately, the biggest issue I have with this fragrance is the performance. The projection is very soft and the longevity is poor. You can't really complain about it at that price point, and if you don't mind reapplying the fragrance throughout the day, then go for it.

Impressive clone of a masterpiece
Clive Christian Blonde Amber was one of my favorites. It has amazing depth/mass appealing balance. Only downside of BA is it's price. Its extremely expensive.
Then I found this. Although I have the original, I find it quite similar and there is no need to keep original one.
I sold the CC Blonde Amber and decided to continue with this. In my opinion its %90 similar with fraction of it's price.

Fallen for the Hype, Tripped Up by a Blind Purchase (Blonde Amber Alternative)
I fell for the hype and bought a bottle blind.
Since I had only heard good things about "XXI: Art Deco - Blonde Amber | Clive Christian," I assumed that Amber Empire would also be impressive.
What can I say? I regret the purchase; it just isn't my DNA.

The opening is not bad at all, quite sweet, spicy, warm, and oriental.
What exactly lies behind the listed "oriental notes" remains unclear.
It definitely smells of the Orient, but fortunately not "oudy," rather more spicy.
I perceive the liqueur note only subtly, so the scent is not overly boozy.
Already in the opening, a certain complexity is evident.

In the drydown, the not really boozy liqueur from the opening mixes with a warm amber accord, which, to my nose, does not seem entirely authentic.
The sweetness likely comes from sugarcane and vanilla, with the vanilla slightly dominating, but unfortunately it also doesn't smell quite realistic.

In the base, cedarwood and labdanum finally join in, a note that I actually don't like at all.
Fortunately, it is not too dominant here, but still gives the fragrance a certain depth and resinous quality.

What remains is a slightly resinous, sweet amber scent with woody nuances and a liqueur accord that reminds me more of dried fruits than of a drink.

The performance is solid.
I had imagined the projection to be stronger, but it is well perceived for 2 hours, and then moderately for 6 hours.
The longevity is very good on my skin, lasting 8 to 9 hours.

My conclusion:
Even though it doesn't suit my taste, it's not a bad winter fragrance that sets you apart from the crowd.
If you like sweet and oriental scents, you should still test it beforehand; I wouldn't recommend it as a blind purchase.

A Good Alternative but Not a Blind Buy
Yes, the original Blonde Amber is very popular and people are looking for alternatives, but one must say upfront, this is not a scent that you should just buy blindly.

Amber Empire doesn't take long to reveal its scent during the drydown, which is honestly quite strong, probably the best you can have if you love the fragrance.
However, this is not a crowd-pleasing scent, especially with cardamom and patchouli.

The scent itself still smells good and you can sense the complexity behind it that captivates you; this is a fragrance you must wear in the evening.

The scent is complex, sexy, and smells more expensive than it is. The longevity is also good, lasting a solid 6+ hours on my skin, which is more than enough and definitely noticeable in the vicinity.

Still, as mentioned, it's better to get a fragrance sample if you have never smelled the Blonde Amber before; if you know the scent of the original, you will also like Amber Empire.

Sweet Disappointment
Due to all the hype, I wanted to get to the bottom of it, as I like amber and tend to prefer darker scents, so I ordered Amber Empire.

The opening is dreadful, a completely chemical, alcohol-like scent that stings the nose, but fortunately it fades fairly quickly (about 15 minutes).

The drydown is quite pleasant; it feels warm and smells nice, but then it develops strongly in a sweet direction that I don't particularly like.

I wore it all day and had to reapply every 4-5 hours (15-20 sprays), as it becomes hardly noticeable after just 2 hours. On the skin, you can still smell it, but there is hardly any projection.

I actually received two separate compliments, but it didn't convince me.

French Avenue's best release of 2025. The popular Blonde Amber DNA with great H/S.

A usable everyday scent... if it’s really that close to BA, which I haven’t tested, I don’t get the hype around it at all.

First impression: way too intense. Afterwards: addictive. Sweet warm amber and dried fruits. Unbeatable for a ridiculous 30€.

A great blonde amber alternative, at a fraction of the CC price. A bit sweeter and less depth. H/S at a similar level to the OG's.

Oh, how beautiful it is! Spicy warm amber with tuberose and tobacco in the background. Saffron tickles and patchouli grounds.

After 4 hours, it fades away. The scent is nice in itself - but nothing groundbreaking. I expected more from this.

Good, but overhyped. Amber Empire is a great alternative to Clive Christian Blonde Amber, but it’s a bit sweeter.
