Superior Women s.Oliver 2010

Of course with an arrogant attitude I judged "Superior Women von s.Oliver" before I testet it: Well again such a cheap slop of a scent. I am so full of it meanwhile. And out of this s'Oliver, "only" a fashion-label!
But then I put it on my skin and: Surprise! What a fresh hesperide-fragance, woody, wonderful fine spiced, modern, minimalistic. The fruitness is superb tangy, not at all sweet or synthetically.
I looked at the flasc and smelled again and again.
I could not decide whether "Superior Women" could have a bit the direction of "Comme des Garcons 2" or more those garden fragances of Hermès created by Jean-Claude Elléna.
At least I would say: It's somehow the style of J-C Elléna between the garden-scents and the voyages-scents.
Then I called "Superior Women" at the German site: The brand is Mäurer + Wirtz, an old perfume label which created many good and popular scents - in the past . Like "Tabac" and "Tosca".
But meanwhile the fragances of M+W are ranking in the low-price-level.
Then I read the German reviews which are in common: Thumb down! No perfumer is mentioned here.
Well the longevity of "Superior Women" seems to be bad. But it is only the sillage which is withdrawing after about 45 minutes.
Then a fine whiff is staying close to the body for hours. I cannot recognize my hate-ingredient ambroxan.
There is listet vanilla and tonka. But "Superior Women" is not at all a gourmand nor creamy or poudry.
"Superior Women" has it's finish within a few moments and is staying as a transparent and fresh-spicy, fruity, slightly flowrish and rahter woody over the time one can perceive it.
At least somebody who is knowing how to create a fragrance very close to the perfume-art of J-C Elléna was the perfumer of "Superior Women".
It is ratet as a feminine scent but I would judge it as unisex. "Superior Women" is a scent for every day, every occasion, spring and summer. Nobody will be embarrassed scentet with "Superior Women"

Despite the drugstore price, I was indifferent for a long time about whether to purchase Superior or not. The reason for this is the double-edged development of the fragrance.

The top note here is quite a dominant and lasting affair, and it does not smell fruity to my nose as the fragrance pyramid might suggest. From the very beginning, there is a hint of bitter wood that is characteristic of the entire scent. The fruit(?) sweetness that accompanies it somehow doesn’t quite fit and makes Superior in the first third of the fragrance - or, better said, in the first half of the fragrance - feel somewhat uneven, unharmoniously composed, and despite not having excessive sillage, still quite strong.

In short: I didn’t feel comfortable with it. Something disturbing accompanies the scent. Clear thing: I thought to myself, it won’t be purchased.

But something else happens here. And it’s something beautiful. After about 1 hour, the fragrance somehow becomes rounder and acquires a beautiful, elegant, dry wood note that is absolutely not intrusive, yet still noticeable to others. Now it actually has something: special, "valuable." The flowers are delicate, but not virginal, the wood is elegant and feminine. Over time, the fragrance becomes a bit softer, without ever sliding into sweetness; the wood note remains consistently present.

The fragrance lasts about 4-5 hours, which I find acceptable for a drugstore scent. And so my personal conclusion was: clear thing, it will be purchased after all.

I received this fragrance for my birthday last year. However, I didn't want to spray the bottle right away, but rather test the scent in the store first. And that's exactly what I did. I think I did that about 5 times ^_^ In the meantime, I had it in my stockpile.
Somehow, I never really liked the scent on the paper strip. Everyone I showed the fragrance to said, "It smells good." I always just replied, "Oh, I don't know."
Now I decided to finally open the fragrance (since my perfume was empty, I reached for this one first.)
My first impression was: Nothing special, it somehow smells like Royal Desire by Aguilera, which I don't really like. But then I thought, poor fragrance! I insulted it ^_^
Superior unfolds really wonderfully. The scent is perfectly created for ladies and young women. You feel grown-up and confident, but with a touch of youthful lightness.
The fragrance is not too sweet, but beautifully fruity, and I also find it rather fresh and slightly floral. You can wear it at work, while shopping, just at home, or when going out. The scent is actually suitable for everything.
I also find the bottle very beautiful. Two corners are angular and two are round (if you can still call that a corner ;-) )
The cap shimmers beautifully in various shades of pink, and the metal that encircles the bottle gives it an elegant touch.
The longevity is really amazing for an Eau de Toilette. It lasts almost the whole day for me.
The fragrance has convinced me, and I look forward to receiving it as a gift again ^_^

New, it costs about 0.30€/ml.

About the bottle:
The texture/grip is superficially smooth, as it is made of glass, transparent, flat. Additionally, it is quite wide and grippy with plastic. It fits well in the hand.
Thus, good handling is ensured.
The cap also seals the sprayer well.
The spray head is located in the lower middle area.
Completely sufficient.

About the scent:
Immediately after spraying, a slightly fruity sweetness emerges. However, it is quickly surrounded and enclosed by floral notes.
A light freshness joins in, which lightens the scent a bit.
But primarily, the floral dominance remains.
In the base, there is no added sweetness, in the form of plum, vanilla, and tonka.
Longevity is about 3-6 hours, placing it in the lower middle range.
Sillage is about 2-4 hours, which is in the lower range.

Conclusion:
I have tested the scent multiple times on my forearm.
I understand the theme with Woman, due to the floral dominance from the freesia.
However, I would tend to categorize it as young feminine based on its appearance.
In the end, nothing special, you wouldn't miss anything.
But then again, you can't really go wrong with the price/quality ratio.
There are definitely worse options out there.

Since I generally like fragrances from S. Oliver, I decided to test a few of them again.
With this scent, I had higher expectations. The opening is quite nice, fresh, and citrusy without smelling like dish soap. However, the fragrance notes didn't really come through. They remained elusive and in the background. Soon, the floral notes mixed in, but again, nothing substantial emerged. A bit of freesia, a bit of orchid, and a bit of plum. All just in whispers. Not much, but too little to call it a fragrance. The dry down features tonka bean, vanilla, and cedar. All things I like, but they were also barely detectable. As quickly as the scent appeared, it was gone just as fast. Overall, it's a very well-crafted fragrance, but it would be better if it were a bit stronger. Unfortunately, it is just a wisp.
