s.Oliver Women s.Oliver 2009 Eau de Toilette

I also like to smell pleasant while exercising. In the absence of a pure sports fragrance, which I usually don't like anyway, I mostly use samples with soft scents. But somehow I NEEDED one just for athletic activities, since I am active three times a week. It shouldn't be too expensive, not too citrusy and/or synthetic, and it doesn't have to last too long. Thanks to Parfumo, I eventually came across this one.

And it's great! I bought it last week. At Pferdemann for 6.95/30 ml! For this affordable price, you really get something: The opening is citrus-fresh, but far from the toilet cleaner citrus freshness. Really nice and fresh! Quickly, the scent becomes creamy, and it strongly reminds me of the old Nivea body milk in the dark blue bottle. I haven't used it in ages, so I don't know if it still smells the same. But this scent smells exactly like that! And all without any synthetic touch like many others in this price range.

With S. Oliver Woman, you feel like you've just showered and moisturized. On me, the scent lasts about three to four hours, which is more than enough. Reapplying is no issue at this price. This fragrance will definitely be a great companion in summer, or when you simply don't want to be "perfumed," but still want to smell good.

During my last purchase at a perfume store, I received a sample of S. Oliver. I was curious because until now, I only knew the scent. S. Oliver Original, which is known to be a rather strong fragrance. While the big sister is something for autumn and winter, this one is a scent for the warm season. The beginning is slightly citrusy for me, before the flowers with a hint of musk come in. The freshness is gradually pushed aside, and suddenly the lightly powdery floral scent reminiscent of a cream in a blue jar from Hamburg takes over everything. Delicate but not easily dismissed, it continues with musk as a rounding off. Not bad, but it doesn't overly excite me either. Fresh, clean, and delicately cared for, one is with this fragrance. Wearing it, you can't go wrong. It's just a very decent and unobtrusive scent. You smell clean and well-groomed, and that's about it. Longevity for me is only 2-3 hours, and I find that a bit short. Generally, I like scents that don't overwhelm the environment. This fragrance is a bit too delicate, too proper, and too girlish for my taste.

I have had this scent on and off since it was released. Just the other day, I bought my third bottle, and at €8.95/30ml (Müller, Douglas is asking almost double), it is more than affordable. Still, it is not the usual fruity-floral-vanilla scheme of this price range.

Woman is a very clean, fresh scent. You feel like you've just showered and moisturized with it. :-) It starts fresh and slightly citrusy and then becomes creamy-light like a body lotion. The comparison to the white Nivea lotion, which unfortunately is no longer available, is quite fitting. To me, it smells like the beach, sea breeze, and summer, without any sunscreen associations.

A lovely, light scent for vacations and warm summer days. Or even for the whole year if you prefer something fresh and subtle. It’s also a nice scent for the office or other workplaces where more discreet fragrances are preferred. A scent that I find has a certain class. There’s nothing girly or cheap about it. The ingredients are quite decent, there are no colorants, and it doesn’t give me headaches. What more could you want? :-)

The longevity is about 3-4 hours - so not forever, but I can live with that.

Edit June 2014: With the currently summery temperatures, I am once again reminded of how wonderful this scent is. It is unfortunately totally underestimated and can easily compete with any expensive EdC/summer EdT.

"s.Oliver Women" and "tommy girl" were the first two fragrances I had, I don't remember exactly which was first and which was second. Back then, it was definitely my favorite scent.

It smells pleasantly fresh, is not heavy or intrusive, fits pretty much always and everywhere, and is also optimal for summer. I still like it and wonder why I avoided it for so long; it could also be that my perfume addiction has only just kicked in.

The longevity for me is about 4-5 hours, of course, it gets weaker during that time, but for the price (I paid about 17 euros for my 50 ml EdT), that's absolutely okay.

I find the bottle to be somewhat unloving, but in the end, it's the content that matters.

In the future, I will definitely make sure that this fragrance comes back to me more often.

~ Inspiration ~
The brand s. Oliver is known to me as a fashion label. The perfumes do not appeal to me, as I do not engage much with fashion - I received a sample of this one as a gift.

~ Bottle ~
The appearance strikes me as cool and sporty. The red elements around the bottle neck and the typical logo on the front serve as eye-catchers.

~ Fragrance ~
Upon application, a brief burst of a zesty top note of apple, lime, and bergamot emerges, before a creamy heart note unfolds with flowers and musk. Sandalwood harmoniously rounds it off in the base.

~ Longevity ~
On my skin, it lasts only about 3-4 hours (on clothing and hair a bit longer). Since the fragrance is very light and subtle, you can comfortably use several sprays.

~ Occasion ~
It can be worn all year round if you want to feel freshly showered and creamed for a longer time.

~ Conclusion ~
The only s. Oliver perfume I tested a while ago was "Superior," and I did not like it at all. This one smells pleasant and unobtrusive. I completely agree with the comparison to Nivea Body Lotion/Milk!
