Not to be underestimated!
To be honest, I am a bit disappointed that pleasant, fine, easily wearable fragrances are immediately labeled as "weak" or "insipid." Does everything nowadays have to have an INTENSE or ELIXIR version, be gourmand, and knock you over? Perhaps women - like me - are also looking for the exact opposite; a fragrance that hugs without sticking, a scent that is light, one that you can joyfully reapply and breathe in fresh, a fragrance that is uncomplicated, doesn't overwhelm, and is still "there."
Today during my lunch break, I see UNITED by S.Oliver advertised as "new" in the drugstore, and I am immediately curious. I generally find S.Oliver fragrances pleasant and easy to wear as described above. Of course, with drugstore fragrances, there is a risk that many smell similar, have been around before, and don’t last 12 hours. Nevertheless, wonderful everyday scents, and I don’t know about you, but my "everyday" takes up more time than any major events where you can apply heavily.
I like the top note. Lightly citrus-fresh, but no toilet spray vibes. So I immediately head to Parfumo to check the listed heart note - aha, Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, and Rose then. I have slight concerns that the rose might become overpowering, as I don’t particularly like that. Lucky me, the heart note bends thanks to Jasmine and Lily of the Valley into a fine-creamy note, and the rose complements it wonderfully! The fragrance becomes slightly powdery and has something fine and warm that fits perfectly with autumn.
With the mixture of woods and musk in the base note, I believe you can't go wrong, and so the scent leans into a very light cedar-musk veil - to be fair, the note is objectively weak, which is often criticized, but for me personally, it’s the perfect moment to then eventually reapply and enjoy the fragrance anew!
In terms of price, the fragrance is around 20 euros in Austrian drugstores, probably a bit cheaper in Germany. I will treat myself to it soon and in the meantime, I’m still sniffing on my wrist :)
