To put the Tuxedo comparison's to bed
Rochas Moustache EDP vs YSL Tuxedo (or the other way around)
Main similarities
- They share the same vanilla vibe
- Both are orientals at their core
- Both have the same cakey vibe

Main differences
- Tuxedo opens fresh and green (particularly violet and bergamot, the coriander is inserted/playing along with the black pepper).
- Tuxedo's violet note gives off an acidic vibe mainly due the rose I believe (the rose in itself is hard to detect; it fades away rather quickly)
- Tuxedo's dry down is a warm patchouli with vanilla in particular
- Tuxedo has a salty vibe from the ambergris (fades away when the scent settles down)

- Moustache doesn't start off green (doesn't have green top notes either) but it does open fresh (mandarine, no bergamot like Tuxedo)
- Cedar is quite prominent in Moustache; Tuxedo on the other hand has no woody vibe (has no woods listed at all)
- Moustache is warmer than Tuxedo, because Moustache is not patchouli heavy (which can smell green and earthy)
- Moustache is less pungent than Tuxedo (same reason)
- Would classify Moustache as a warm spicy and Tuxedo as fresh spicy

Overall performance
- Tuxedo has a more powerful sillage and projection. Also performs longer and better.
- Moustache is a softer scent that sits closer to the skin fairly quickly

Design
- In this regard I prefer the bottle of Tuxedo. Personally I dont like the design of Moustache. Looks kind off out dated

Price
- Moustache (no further explanation needed)

Which one would I choose?
- Moustache
- I like my patchouli's to be pungent, green and powerfull (Psychedelique style), so personally Tuxedo wouldn't fit in my collection.
- The price difference is also too steep for my liking

Will this be the last time a cheap alternative can/will be able to dethrone the more expensive, luxurious trendsetter? Only time will tell...

You amazed me...
This scent is weird, for real. I think that's how a perfume should develop while it dries down.
It starts up with heavy on Mandarine and touch of pink pepper. Pleasant and inoffensive, keeping it classy. Then rose joins in and it somehow starts to smell like a green fragrance with patchouli and cedarwood. Then benzoin comes in and mixes up really well with Rose, making it such a classy and pleasant scent. Im getting a little bit of powderiness from the dry down and it just amazed me any time I've worn this.
Starts citrussy, gets greener, then bam, sweet and smooth out of nowhere. I think this was a real piece of art for me and deserves to be called niche. I think every man should have this one, or such DNA in their collection. Praises to the nose behind this.

How is it that no one is pointing out the similarities to Toy Boy?
A not so distant cousin of Moschino's famous Toy Boy, just a slightly subdued rose note compared to the playful black bear, but just as resinous, definitely unisex, sexy ,cozy and smells absolutely divine.

Fantastic value for money, this honestly smells like a $150+ fragrance, and people would gladly pay, it is that good.

Moustachio
This was a blind buy and the most successful one at that. Moustache opens with a sweet and creamy mandarin paired with pink pepper to give it some zing. On my skin, the dry down remains strong in pepper – which I really enjoy – along with cedar wood and some vanilla (presumably the benzoin listed in the notes). Patchouli nicely rounds it off. I don’t detect any rose at all.

Given its price at discounters, this one is a no-brainer. It’s not revolutionary nor particularly inspiring, but it offers extremely good value for money. Projection and longevity are solid. It’s not a beast in any way, but it’s neither fleeting nor shy.

No need to empty your wallet for a great fragrance!
Prior to picking up a bottle of Moustache, I had been wanting to try it for some time. Countless people have told me of it's greatness, especially so given it's typically low price. Inexpensive fragrances can be hit or miss, but in the case of Moustache, it's a big, big hit. This fragrance smells like something that would cost way more money than this. The opening is fruity and spicy, with a bit of a vanilla tinge peeking through. There are some soft florals as the dry down starts, I actually smelled a bit of jasmine, as well as some spicy-woody notes that add a nice dose of freshness among the more dense notes. I also got a decent amount of incense in the dry down that really helps round out the fragrance and give it some fullness. The incense here is not smoky but rather quite clear, but still resinous, and very sweet. What this fragrance could compare to, I cannot say for sure, but it does remind me of something that I've smelled before that costs far more than this does.

Fragrances like Moustache are prime examples of how fragrances do not need to be expensive to be well made, smell good, and come with a nice presentation. I'm not sure what kind of witchcraft Rochas is pulling to put this fragrance out for so cheap, but I'd like to see some other brands take a lesson from them in this regard. I can definitely see myself wearing Moustache quite often, and I can't recommend it to others enough.

Opening with a fruity and peppery scent. Rose and cedarwood give the fragrance a elegant touch. In the drydown, vanilla and dark patchouly.

An absolute bargain. Get it if you can. Warm, not overly sweet classic scent. Paid abt €30 for a bottle.

Cheap blind purchase, regret. Pink pepper bomb and cheap vanilla benzoiny thing. Might just throw away…
