the Vanilla Lady
She loved these winter days in her orangery:
Outside lay the untouched snow, the winter sun cast sharp shadows; making the bare branches of the trees look like intricate paper cuttings.
In here was the ideal place for her beloved plants; she dedicated several hours each day to them. This care was rewarded by the beauty of leaves, flowers, and scents.

As always, she began her rounds with her Mediterranean potted plants:
Gently, she wiped their dark green, glazed-looking leaves with a damp cloth; plucking a few wilted flowers here and there and lovingly stroking the scarred skin of mandarins and bergamots: how she loved to touch them while simultaneously experiencing their aromatic, fresh scent.
The bushes of black currants had already grown in their corner since she discovered this orangery years ago.
They were already thanking her for her constant care with a few scattered fruits and dense, herb-scented foliage.
In a narrower aisle stood the large pots with gardenia bushes, whose flowers were now in full bloom: they did not hold back their fragrant charms and perfumed the air before entering the so-called garden area, where the queens of flowers held a gathering.
But first, the little, cheerful violet wanted to be greeted; it was not only fragrant for its own pleasure: it wanted to contribute something to the emerging floral feel-good aroma.
Jasmine, rose, and iris were happy to coexist: they were aware of their beauty and presented themselves accordingly.
After the southern freshness, a noble floral scent display gained space; the illusion of summer was laid at her feet in vibrant white, pink, and iris purple.
And not only that: these scents enveloped her richly: she enjoyed their opulence!
She decided to conclude her walk as usual with the orchids; she particularly loved her Bourbon vanilla orchids. Their long tendrils formed a natural protection for the other orchid species, which did not appreciate sunlight as tree dwellers; while the numerous trumpet-shaped flowers released their vanilla aroma in rich waves.
She felt completely at ease and enjoyed this rich diversity of scents that was offered to her.
As always, she sat down on the simple bench that stood there to linger for a while in this blessing. There, the tea tray was already waiting.

Up to this point, her guest, a fragrance artist from "The Merchant of Venice," had accompanied her almost silently, almost reverently.
He too perceived this olfactory experience with all his trained senses, delighted.
But even more: in his thoughts, he added some elements from his own treasure chest.
Thus, with the addition of aromatic-spicy sandalwood and cedar notes, as well as a secret balsamic blend, a sensually warm vanilla fragrance goddess emerged, drawing everyone near her into her generous, scent-intensive embrace.

Happy with this inspiration, he shared his thoughts with the lady of the house, and they agreed, in accordance with the regulations of the brand he represented, on the name "Vanilla Orchid."
For it was decided to include this fragrance creation in the family of the "Museum Collection": where soloists have been successfully performing for years!
They find a home in the red glass flacons that sit so pleasantly in the hand.
Many of the fragrances housed there can be easily blended to create one's own magical garden.
But even as individual performers, they are beautiful, and "Vanilla Orchid" is no exception.

This fragrance masterpiece, warming and protective, very sensual and feminine, accompanies for several hours and provides comfort; especially on cool and gray days.
But also on occasions when cuddles and loving embraces are needed, it is the right companion and comforter.
Although already strong in presence, this creation from "The Merchant of Venice" is never intrusive or unpleasant: it simply follows the noble Venetian traces and elegantly invites one to follow.

Noble Femininity
Vanilla Orchid starts off fruity - sweet, citrusy - herbal, but also subtly floral - spicy.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to our perfumer "reni379" for the sample.

At first, one can perceive a slightly deep sweet and fruity note that appears pleasantly fluffy and is thanks to the black currant.

At the same time, there is another fruity nuance that merges with the currant into a whole, creating a pleasant effect and comes from the mandarin.

There is also a fine citrusy, very subtly herbal note present, which arranges beautifully with the other notes and ensures that the top note does not come across as sweet - sticky, but rather appears refreshingly sweet and is derived from the bergamot.

In the background, a light floral and also spicy facet of the violet can be perceived, which gives the top note a nice tangible substance.

This constellation is perceivable on my skin for 20 minutes before the heart note unfolds.

Now, something opulently floral is noticeable, which bestows a lovely feminine aura to the heart note and is thanks to the Bulgarian rose.

At the same time, there is also a floral, very subtly sweet note that merges with the rose into a whole, giving the heart note a pleasant substance and comes from the jasmine.

There is also a very pure and clear floral note that has a very subtly earthy touch and fits beautifully into the composition, adding a touch of nobility and is derived from the gardenia.

In the background, the iris, with its fine - powdery, slightly floral scent nuances, underlines the other notes and ensures that the heart note becomes a wonderful whole.

The heart note is perceivable for 3 hours on my skin before the base asserts itself.

Now, something softly woody is noticeable, which gives the base a comforting quality and is thanks to the cedarwood.

At the same time, there is a very subtly creamy - spicy note that merges with the cedarwood into a whole, ensuring that the comforting aura is slightly enhanced and comes from the sandalwood.

In the background, there is a small sweet note that pleasantly rounds off the base and provides a nice conclusion, which is derived from the vanilla.

Unfortunately, I could not perceive the balsamic notes, but I can very well imagine that they were used merely as support.

Overall, the scent lasts for 6 hours on my skin.

The sillage is designed from the beginning to be perceived well at about half an arm's length, and this is maintained for 2.5 hours before it gradually reduces until the scent finally fades completely.

Once the warm berry bowl, please!
Yippee, another Venetian merchant to test!!!! Thanks, Duftige. :)

I already had “Vanilla Orchid” on my radar anyway. I was a bit apprehensive about the blackcurrants and violets.....but so far, none of the Venetians have been unpleasant, so I dare to test it.

It immediately smells of fruits. Juicy, like freshly bitten into. Violets are nowhere to be seen.
In the background, I have no idea where it comes from, I notice rubber. Not strong, but definitely there.
And not just any rubber, no - it smells very subtly like a condom in the heat of the moment. It may sound strange or off-putting to some, but it’s not.
But I’m into everything that’s a bit human.

The condom fades after a few minutes and in front of me stands a bowl of hot forest berries with vanilla sauce. Beautifully fruity, not sour, not too much sugar, the sauce with a vanilla pod inside - very delicious.

Sitting on a meadow between rustling deciduous trees, I leisurely empty the bowl, berry by berry, and lick the rest of the vanilla sauce at the end.

Love at First "Sniff"
Actually, I didn't want to buy a fragrance that I hadn't tested extensively. Yet this one managed to do just that. I can't really say whether I'm very happy with it or not.

What prompted me to buy it was not only the fact that I was allowed to shop alone in the city. To sniff and chat in peace, without a man and dog who just want to whine or nibble. I was at Ludwig Beck and immediately fell in love with Penhaligon's Clara, but I pulled myself together and didn't take anything with me, as I didn't want to buy something again that I wouldn't wear. So off I went through the city, leisurely browsing all the perfumeries. The last stop was the Oberpollinger department store. Here, I saw the stand of The Merchant Of Venice for the first time. My mouth corners went straight up, and my little googly eyes sparkled and shone. The handsome Italian salesman was quite confused by my joy but immediately agreed to test the fragrances extensively with me. I really had a lot of fun. Now finally to the scent:

The red bottle is made of glass and has a high-quality golden pendant that clips around the neck. It may not be the prettiest bottle from this manufacturer, but it is still more beautiful than many bottles from other brands. It fits wonderfully in the hand and is really easy to use.

The scent is almost the most beautiful thing I have ever smelled. On the strip, it develops wonderfully and lasts a long time. It starts fruity and zesty, not sticky or overpowering, and then develops into a dreamy floral scent. The fragrance truly smells like what I associate with orchids. Hypnotizing blooms, clean and fruity, and also a little vanilla-sweet. This scent could stay forever, and I would love it to have much more sillage. However, after some time, it unfortunately turns "caramel-vanilla" with a woody undertone. That's nice too, but not like the floral-vanilla that captivated me so much before. I find this last part rather boring or generic and often smelled, but still not bad.

The sillage, however, remains very close to the body and unobtrusive, making it easy to wear in the office without anyone being bothered by it. For me, it's almost too delicate. On my skin, it develops faster than on a cloth, paper strip, or shirt and therefore doesn't last quite as long.

After 2-4 hours, the fun is unfortunately over, but my shirt still smells very softly of vanilla blossoms and fine fruits in the evening. And I could swear that it still has a delicate scent in the elbow... How wonderful! *dreams*

Smoky and creamy vanilla is the focus.
It’s layered with a bed of sweet berries and flowers.
Rose joins in the base.
