Spicy-Leathery Vanilla Lavender Dream
I am venturing into my first review of this fragrance, where the perfume community seems to be somewhat divided. The statements range from enthusiasm to rejection.
I rarely perceive such a clear divide, but perhaps it’s also because the fragrance has only been available since 2024, and I have been following it from the very beginning.
The bottle convinced me to participate in the sharing. I think Dries Van Noten creates stunningly beautiful bottles, and I have wanted to own one for a long time. However, Camomille Satin was the first that appealed to me from the fragrance pyramid as well.
And I must confess, I belong to those who love this scent. From the very first spray. It is difficult to filter out the individual notes. For me, it is the overall impression that excites me. And above all, the scent impression is new. Especially if you, like me, have a preference for vanilla, sweet, and gourmand fragrances, after 1.5 years on Parfumo, it often gives the impression: "This smells like..." Not here.
Camomille Satin is sweet but not a gourmand. I find that vanilla and lavender are clearly noticeable from the start. Orange and chamomile join in. I do not recognize rose, and that is a good thing. I cannot filter out the other notes, but I assume they make the scent spicy, creamy, and slightly leathery in the background.
The bottle had to be mine. But the fragrance is also quite pricey, and so often I have been completely thrilled only for the bottle to end up in the souk or swap game after two weeks. So I was sensible and first ordered a large decant in a decorative bottle - only to immediately pounce on a leftover bottle in the first souk offer.
The bottle is refillable. That’s great, but you need a tool for it that apparently cannot be ordered separately. Two cake forks will do in a pinch, but I am a bit concerned that the bottle may not be completely sealed this way. However, the cap sits quite firmly on the bottle, perhaps as a precaution. I am somewhat disappointed with the lower, decorated part of the bottle. It looks great, but it is made of plastic. It feels and sounds a bit cheap.
Now three weeks have passed, and I still love the scent and am very happy to own it in an original bottle that I can refill again and again.

Much Nothing
I was able to test You first at Sephora. However, the tester was empty, so I wasn’t surprised that I could hardly perceive anything from this scent.
So I went straight to Glossier. The concept of this store is not for me. The saleswoman was super friendly and immediately sprayed You on me, but then she quickly shifted to trying to sell me one (or two?) balms in a bundle. My English skills are so-so, and I couldn’t make it clear to her that I just wanted to quietly test this one fragrance. That was difficult, as my nose also struggled to pick up anything from You in this store. Therefore, I left without buying the fragrance. The plan was actually to purchase at least a travel size. Outside, it didn’t get any better. You is really very light. A hint of nothing. You smells clean and fresh. I can’t describe the fragrance notes. This scent works anytime and won’t stand out negatively. A feel-good fragrance? Definitely. A compliment magnet? I can’t imagine that, as hardly anyone else will perceive it. I think this fragrance is getting too much hype, and I’d rather test Sonic Flower, which is similar.

Perfect Late Summer Scent
Today I finally received my bottle of Ruby Red.
I became aware of this fragrance through "Cierge de Lune | Aedes de Venustas."
I am currently interested in spicy sweet scents. I really like "Cierge de Lune | Aedes de Venustas," but there is always a note that comes through (I have associated it with the smell of freshly cooked kale) that I sometimes cannot stand. For whatever reason. That’s why Cierge de Lune has been in and out of my collection multiple times. Ruby Red was supposed to be similar. I was able to order a sample in the souk, and it was exactly what I was looking for.
It is significantly less spicy (and without the "kale note") but sweeter and fruitier. However, I would never have associated this fragrance with ginger if I hadn’t read it beforehand. The citrus notes come through well, as do the vanilla and the woody elements. I think this scent is ideal for the current season and the calm, warm late summer weather that we unfortunately have too rarely here by the North Sea. It is too sweet and spicy for the hot summer but not heavy enough for winter yet. And the bottle fits perfectly with the current sunsets.
Longevity and sillage are not outstanding, but I have had fragrances that performed worse for more money. I can clearly perceive the scent on my skin for about 3 hours, then it fades.

Berlin Subway
I also participated in the Parfumo giveaway and won a fragrance sample of "Cappadocia | Memo Paris." Since writing a review can lead to even more prizes, this time the reviews will likely go beyond the much-criticized "beast mode" and "best summer scent to impress the girls" phrases. Aside from the fact that Cappadocia fulfills neither of those.
The first impression upon spraying the sample was comparable to the smell of the Berlin subway. When you go down the stairs of the exit and the breeze from an arriving or departing train swirls that typical, tar-like smell around your nose.
In the first 10 minutes, during which the spice of saffron and incense dominated, I found the scent too masculine for me. But then the fragrance became softer, more floral, and sweeter. Nevertheless, there is always a slightly bitter note in the background. But tar? Or leather?
Personally, I find the scent intriguing. I can't think of a comparable fragrance so far. Would I wear it? I’m not sure yet.

Title will come later
I ordered Fascent in a fit of daring, blind, after the fragrance was listed here. The fragrance pyramid is exactly my type. I love sweet scents. And no matter how often I try other directions, I always end up back at sweet. After all, I have realized through Parfumo: Sweet yes, but I really don’t want to smell like a dessert or chocolate. By now, there is indeed a category for me: too sweet.
The Fascent website is kept spartan, and I find the images with the bottles and cocktail glasses or the bathroom sink rather strange. And you don’t learn much about the fragrances themselves. So, a blind purchase. Right along with the refill vials to save on shipping from France.
Fascent states that they place great value on the quality of the fragrances and not on the design of the bottles. That’s true. The bottle is simply designed. Since one of the pictures featured a pool noodle, I thought this strange little hat was made of foam, but it’s actually a hard plastic cap. The bottles are refillable and apparently, you’re also supposed to wash or rinse them out.
Fascent currently offers 5 fragrances that are supposedly combinable with each other.
Milky No Way actually smells like hazelnut at the first spray moment. It is sweet - for me, marzipan-like (tonka bean and cream?) but really not too sweet. This is probably also because this scent is rather soft and close to the skin. Aside from the first spray moment, it has no strong sillage. I can’t detect the sandalwood yet, and I need to test how long it lasts. Overall, the conclusion is positive, but this fragrance probably won’t create a hype. It’s nice. And beautiful. I would say it’s a mix between Milk Musk Eau de Toilette and "Milk | Commodity."
