Satin? Leather? Who knows!
What a confusing scent. The name and the notes made me expect something soft, smooth and calm. The actual fragrance is anything but that!
Neither does it evoke satin in any way, nor am I able to detect chamomile. My main reference points for chamomile are the humble 90s classic Cerruti 1881 and the tea you drink when you're sick, so maybe I'm not exactly an expert on this flower, but still... The other florals in this don't stand out much either.
Instead I get a blast of rough, almost animalic leather, mixed with sweet vanilla. It must be the galbanum and maybe the musk, as all the other notes sound so light and flowery. When I first tried this I was shocked and thought maybe I got the wrong sample, but after a few more tests I kind of get how a scent with these notes can smell like this.
After the leather has calmed down, I can actually detect a powdery lavender and a slight hint of rose. And vanilla is definitely noticeable all through the scent. They just all get stomped by an aggressive blend of harsh musks and bitter galbanum that read as leather to my nose.
After getting used to it and letting it dry down a bit, it's not a bad scent. The opening is overwhelming, but the drydown is a nice, femine take on leather. Still not what I hoped for, and ultimately not for me, as I only like leather fragrances when they smell smooth and ladylike right from the start.
But I'm sure it's great for someone out there. Just don't let the presentation fool you!
