Somehow can't do without the..
At some point I walked into the office of my boss at the time, who was spraying herself with Venetian Bergamot. I thought the scent was just amazing! I told her it smelled good. She looked at me, put the bottle in my hand and said: here, it suits you better than me anyway. And so I went home with my new signature fragrance. I loved the fragrance! Citrusy, floral, a little woody, slightly spicy, all in all very elegant.
In my opinion, the most underrated fragrance in the Privat Blend range. However, I must confess, I can't do anything with most Tom Ford perfumes.
My downside, I just don't think the longevity is that great considering the price. A great pity, actually.
Nevertheless, I repurchased it when it was empty. I don't use it that often now, but I'm glad I have it!

Not my cup of vanilla
I love the fragrances from Diptyque. Eau Duelle is quite celebrated on the internet, especially in the alternative corner. So it was a blind buy. What could possibly go wrong? I like vanilla perfumes and I like Diptyque.
The voice from off-screen says: "and it went wrong..."
A first try and I thought: ok, that's really not for me!
But I like to give things a chance. So I sprayed on a tentative pump. And there it was, the vanilla bomb. Sweet, powdery, gourmand. Just too much at once for me. Let's wait and see. Suddenly an impulse deodorant trauma from the early 2000s catches up with me. Layering is now the solution. The plan worked.
It's a shame, but I have to admit that Eau Duelle is not my fragrance. I can understand if someone likes it. I just can't..

Late summer night's dream
2023 was my sneeze scent year. I was looking for heavy, dark, elegant, sensual, something to make my little black heart beat faster. Chergui was suddenly everywhere. I quickly looked up the fragrance notes on parfumo. Resins and plant sap... I didn't know what to do with them. I had to get a bottle. I was immediately in love! Pleasantly warm, sweet, heavy, woody, notes of honey.
I don't know why, I forgot that I sprayed it on in the morning. I had this one customer that day and I kept thinking "God, how good can you smell?" And at some point it clicked, it wasn't him, it was me. That's when I realized that one bottle wouldn't be enough for me.
It lasts a very long time on me. It's still on my clothes the next day.
Chergui is a very exciting fragrance for me, which I enjoy wearing again and again.

A cowardly one casts a spell over me
Diptyque really turns my fragrance preferences on their head! I was keen enough to experiment with my order of Orpheon and decided on a sample of Philosykos. My first impression was: smells great but not for me. Then I reached for the little atomizer more often than I thought. I was captivated by the scent of unripe figs on the fig tree in the garden.
So I decided to buy one for myself. Why ersouken? Yes, I love the scent, but I don't love it enough to buy a full bottle again. So I'm not fully in love, but I am a little bit.
Philosykos is fresh, green, a little woody, not sweet.
An unobtrusive companion for everyday life. More of a fragrance for spring. The longevity is unfortunately only so-so.

So actually..
... I wanted to change my collection to heavy fragrances. I actually want to smell dark, like a wicked witch or something like that. And then a sample of Orpheon falls into my hands. What can I say? I fell in love. Orpheon is the kind of fragrance you want to build your entire personality around. It's floral, fresh but also powdery and yet woody. Not overpowering and above all not too feminine. It is very vintage, but not old-fashioned.
I really like many of its fragrance notes anyway, the damask rose would have put me off if I had just gone by the listing. But not at all intrusive here. A beautifully balanced, exciting fragrance. An elegant companion for everyday wear. For me, I see it more as a spring or summer fragrance.
