Elysium, the state of perfect happiness....
.....You can get this definition by typing the word Elysium into a well-known search engine.
For a perfume enthusiast and collector, this definition or the name of this creation by Roja Dove describes it to a tee.
The fragrance is simply heavenly and when I was finally able to test it about a month ago thanks to a sample from the souk here, it was clear to me: THIS MUST BE IN MY COLLECTION and as a bottle :-).
Last weekend the time had come, the fragrance was in my shopping cart at a well-known Internet perfume retailer (for some time at an acceptable, but still not cheap price) and there was 15% off everything, my "desired price" was virtually reached, or let's say the financial pain became bearable....the perfect happiness was within reach and was ordered without further ado.

So what is so special about this fragrance, or what justifies the astronomical price for the 50ml bottle? What makes it so special that it is one of the few fragrances I review as a lazy writer?

I'll start with the packaging and the bottle: As usual for the well-known niche houses, there is no lack of beautiful presentation, a fabric-lined outer packaging with black and gold makes quite an impression, then "enthroned" in it is the really beautifully made and high-quality bottle, again with gold and the really heavy and chic cap, looks very majestic.
The sprayer is really fun, good dosage and very fine.

Now we come to the essentials, the fragrance itself.

I had already sprayed Elysium once a few years ago in the perfume department of a large department store in passing, at that time I was not yet in the perfume bubble as I am today and I asked myself: Pay over 400€ for this? Unimaginable!
Back then, it just smelled citrusy and fresh to me, I just didn't realize the true complexity and wonderful composition of the fragrance.

This was completely different the second time I bought my bottling:
My nose is now better trained and my pain threshold when it comes to perfume prices is much higher than before :-D

For me, Elysium starts off citrusy fresh and super authentically fruity, as it progresses I can clearly perceive the floral, floral components, in the drydown the fragrance then becomes a little more tart and woody, but still remains fruity-floral and also gains in creaminess. It is simply the perfect interplay of all the fragrance components used.

The longevity is not (yet) outstanding for me, but definitely in the upper range, the sillage is rather subtle, but not bad either. It's not a beast fashion fragrance, but it doesn't want to be and doesn't have to be.
One thing is certain: it doesn't offend anywhere and is a real complimentgetter:

Elysium does not reinvent the wheel, I can understand the comparisons with "Aventus | Creed", it is a completely different fragrance, but the general direction is similar.

For me, it's not one of those fragrances where I say: Wow, I've smelled something like that before, like I did with "Ganymede (Eau de Parfum) | Marc-Antoine Barrois", "Forbidden Words | Śasasva" or "Tony Iommi Monkey Special | XerJoff", it's simply the perfection of the components that make this fragrance so special.

Elysium is definitely one of those fragrances that will remain in my collection forever and it even has a very special place in it for me, precisely because it stands out as a "total work of art" without being special or particularly unusual
It is simply perfect in its own noble way!

Even though the fragrance can actually be worn on any occasion, time of day, season and occasion, I see it primarily on a well-dressed middle-aged gentleman in a chic, slightly casual summer outfit, like a country club.....

I now definitely understand the "magic" behind this wonderful fragrance and can only recommend everyone to try it once, and YES it is worth the money (at least for me ;-) )

Thank you so much for reading
