perfume vs cologne
i think it's all about what you want. you smell good with both and your surroundings won't notice any difference in the first hour. after that, the perfume is more noticeable, but you could always spray the cologne afterwards if need be. so there's not much difference at a distance. but i'm one of those who always spray a little on the back of my hand, so i can smell it again and again and enjoy the scent. and up close, there are simply huge differences. admittedly i can only smell 6-7 of the more than 20 fragrances but what even a layman like me can smell are points like depth, balance, progression etc. in all these points i clearly see the perfume in front. of course the cologne smells fresher but as i said the difference doesn't stop there. maybe you can compare the whole thing very well with a mechanical watch: one has a simple date display and the other a perpetual calendar. you can read the date on both (i.e. you can smell it). but if you are interested in the art behind it, if you find complexity fascinating, then you only have to look through the glass caseback once and your heart will go out to the perpetual calendar. that's how i find it with these two. and also with these two, the price difference is simply quite high. but in the end, it's all about what you want. i can understand if you don't want to spend that much money on a perfume. but honestly, i would still rather get a smaller filling of the perfume version and just spray a tiny amount on the back of my hand. sure, the environment hardly notices anything then - but you can always have the nice feeling for yourself even with this small drop
