Eroticism for the nose
I have been looking forward to a rehearsal here because of the good evaluation. When the fragrance mail arrived with 6 fragrances, I wanted to test the Satin Mood first. A sprayer on the elbows and nose on it. Suddenly the other scents were not so important anymore and I just wanted to smell at the MFK over and over again. It smells downright wicked, you think about dating, flirting, you think about sex.

The scent is silky soft, the rose and oud are finely powdered and are in the foreground. Vanilla is also noticeable, but not as striking as the first two. The sillage and shelf life are extremely good. Even with a test sprayer OSM conquers the room with ease and is still clearly perceptible after hours.

After the initial enthusiasm, however, a different feeling sets in with me and the question arises: "do I find the fragrance better on me or on a woman? And the answer for me personally is: on a woman I would enjoy this extraordinary creation more. I don't know if it's too powdery, too rosy or a combination of both, but I find it a bit too feminine.

If I should meet a lady wearing this fragrance when I go out, I will definitely notice her, now even more so, because I can classify this smell or much more aura. And the opener is already there.

Loyal companion
After Bleu de Chanel was the entry point for me into the "blue", I came across the unobtrusive Y last year.
As one of many in this genus, he is not really on the screen. At least, that's what happened to me. But Y has its right to exist as I was allowed to realize with pleasure.
After spraying on, the apple is immediately pleasantly perceptible, which provides the fresh note. After a few minutes this accent settles and the fragrance becomes a little spicier and then changes to a warmer, woody note but still with a pleasant apple touch.
The fragrance is quite round, it literally does not want to offend. This makes it wearable for most occasions and is not limited to a certain season. This also makes it look a bit shy and it always stays in the background.
For me personally, not least because of the good P/L ratio, it has also become a daily/office fragrance that one always perceives but does not want to fill the room.
Durability is also above average for me.

The bottom line is a clear recommendation, especially, but not only, if you like the "blue" fragrances.

The ruler among niche perfumes
So that's it. The legendary legend among niche perfumes, indeed, among all perfumes. And even though I've been looking at fragrances all my adult life, it was Aventus who really got to me and ultimately led me to perfume.

About the fragrance itself: from the first sniffing (2017) at Douglas, it was something special for me, something you want to smell again and again. The fruity opening with pineapple, apple and something citrusy immediately created an aha effect for me. Hours later, long after the shopping trip, a warm, vanilla scent remains, which you can hardly get enough of. I wouldn't want to assign a specific occasion or season to the fragrance, it's too versatile for that and suits almost every occasion, whether sport, going out or the office.

The downside of the success of Creed's bestseller is that it can hardly be called a niche perfume, and the only "niche" is the price. Not a few people also call it a shisha bar scent or (out of desperation?) misused as "compliment getter", Aventus has definitely become mainstream among niche perfumes. And although very annoying, it doesn't change anything about its exceptional nature and the wow-effect of most people smelling it for the first time.

And there is one more thing that belongs inseparably to Aventus, the legend of the batch codes or, to put it a little less nicely, the creative quality assurance at Creed. Although I'm not really a fan of such myths, I have to say that the different bottlings actually smell very different to me, especially in the top note. However, almost all of them move in the warm, vanilla direction over time.

The bottom line is that Aventus has become one of my, if not "that", favorite perfumes and I would definitely recommend it to anyone to at least try it out. May the legend live long.

(bad) alternative to Aventus
After Aventus drew me into the perfume jungle, I succumbed a little to the batch hype, but at first I could not imagine paying such prices for perfumes, I started looking for possible alternatives and came across Cedrat Boise.
So a bottling was ordered and eagerly waited for the mail. The parcel hastily torn open, 2 sprayers on the arm and smelled it with anticipation. The next moment was a mixture of disappointment, horror and suspicion of fraud. Because what I smelled was much more like an ashtray than a smoky Aventus batch, and I couldn't smell much more (with a very amateurish nose) than this very ashtray and leather. Atomiser closed, chapter Cedrat Boise closed for now.

Months later I rediscovered the bottling and, at the risk of regretting it, I wanted to sniff the scent again. So again 2 sprayers on the arm and the nose, this time more hesitantly, held on to it. And to my surprise it did not smell as much like an ashtray as I remembered. Instead it smelled much more spicy and leathery. Eventually the spicy settled and a warm leather smell remained. After about an hour I even liked the scent quite a bit.

In the end, for me this is not an Aventus alternative and I cannot explain where the associations come from. People who like male, leathery fragrances might be worth a try, but my bottling still goes into the "fragrance bunker"
