Honey, I'm home!
A dear person brought me the scent from Ireland, as the MAC Shadescents will only be available in Germany in February.

I was simply too curious, as I am a huge fan of honey scents, so I made a blind purchase and what can I say?

This fragrance has one of the most authentic honey notes I have ever smelled - it truly smells like wild honey. My best friend always raves about the MAC Africanimal, which was once part of a limited edition, and that was also said to be a fabulous honey scent. For me, Velvet Teddy even knocks Reminiscence Tonka out of the running, and that says a lot!

Velvet Teddy excites me 100%! I am very curious about the other 5 Shadescents.

Sympathizing with the Rose
I was once again on a stroll through my local TK MAXX and, of course, I searched the perfume shelves, and I noticed this beautiful packaging of 'Roberto Cavalli Tiger Oud' - never heard of it, I know the designer but never of this specific fragrance. Oud had already caught my attention, as I really like woody, smoky scents - but rose? We have never been best friends.

So I first went to a Douglas store to sniff the fragrance - but they didn't carry it at all, nor did any other perfumery. It was the only Tiger Oud in TK MAXX, and I thought to myself, if someone buys it right in front of me, I would definitely be annoyed. I was lucky and bought the fragrance blind.

Was I disappointed? Definitely not!

For me, it is a wonderful dark, smoky rose scent. Very elegant and mysterious, deep, sexy but not in an obvious way. Personally, I think the fragrance fits best in autumn or on cool, gray days. And the bottle along with the packaging is beautiful to look at!

A rose that even I love. Best blind buy so far!

Outside Wow, inside Meh.
I was really looking forward to this scent. A new Tom Ford, how exciting that always is. I am a huge Tom Ford fan and when I saw the bottle of 'Orchid Soleil', I thought to myself - please, please let it smell great.

Why should I elaborate..? In my opinion, it smells terrible. My first thought was even "Is this supposed to be a Tom Ford fragrance?" Where is the mystery, where is the depth?

It is incredibly floral, powdery. I don't think of a confident woman in a long, white beach dress at a fabulous beach bar. I think of Gisela, who just picked up a cheap perfume for her vacation at Edeka. So outdated. The chestnut cream also comes to the fore after a while, but unfortunately doesn't make it any better.

The beautiful bottle has unfortunately been wasted here.

Tom, you can definitely do better.

Mysterious Summer Scent
On a beautiful spring day, I met a friend in the city, we hugged to greet each other, and immediately I noticed this bright, powdery, yet mysterious scent. "Tom Ford Velvet Orchid is it," she said. Until that moment, I had only heard of Tom Ford but had never dared to try his fragrances. My friend was enveloped in this scent all day, and with every passing minute, I became more enchanted.

A few weeks later, I visited my local TK Maxx, and there was the 100 ml size of the fragrance available for €99. I didn’t hesitate and immediately took advantage of this offer.

First, I must mention the beauty of the bottle; I could admire it for hours.

And then the scent...

Wonderful honey-soaked flowers - powerful, mysterious, bright and yet enveloped in darkness.
With one application, I spray up to three times, even into my hair, and the scent lasts what feels like an eternity. Even after a shower, I can still faintly perceive it.

For me, it is my absolute spring/summer scent!

Thank you, Tom Ford!

Smooth Companion
The first time I came across Oriens was last year. A friend sent me a surprise package, which she lined with tissue paper. As soon as I opened the package, this incredibly sweet and pleasant scent wafted towards me, and I asked her what it was - Oriens by Van Cleef & Arpels, she said. The tissue paper was sprayed with the fragrance. The brand was familiar to me, but I had not heard of the scent until that moment.

A few weeks ago, I found a great deal on this fragrance and ordered the 30 ml size, and I am absolutely thrilled. The bottle alone is beautiful.

For me, it is the perfect summer scent!

Lightly floral at first and becomes sweeter and creamier on my skin over time. Very pleasant to wear and not a scent that hits you over the head and causes headaches. Now and then, you get a wave of that creamy sweetness. The fragrance lasts on me for 6-8 hours.

I personally cannot make a connection to Chanel Mademoiselle. The two are at best very distant relatives.

Fresh, creamy, not too floral. I like!
