A fail for me

This was the result of a first and last failed swap for me, which is my own fault. I may as well have chucked my £100 down the toilet, as the more I smell this the more I absolutely hate it.

This opens with a toffee rose mix which smells nice at first, however on me this turns into a nauseating scent with undertones of bad breath. An expensive mistake that’s likely to end up in the bin.

Retro, but so romantic

I bought it blindly with no expectations, and maybe that was a win—because I usually don’t like retro-smelling perfumes. But this one is so elegant and romantic. I don’t hate the rose note, which is something that often bothers me, and the combination with cinnamon is heavenly. I think I can wear it in every season, since I can be romantic any time of the year. It’s well-balanced, beautiful, and elegant. I even bought a backup.

After Seerose's insightful comment, I was very interested in Mon Parfum Cristal, and lo and behold, the dear Christkind brought it to me,

It fits perfectly into my preferred profile - mild, delicate, and creamy-sweet.

Like a fruit meringue, topped with cream and sprinkled with cinnamon.

Next to the pastry, there are ice cream scoops made of the finest vanilla - the scent exudes a cool warmth.
On the table stands a slender silver amphora, adorned with a single deep red rose, subtly spreading its velvety fragrance.
On the tiered stand, cream candies await, their aroma already melting in the nose.
A small but fine luxury appetizer.

Even my husband turns his head with interest and approaches me with smuggling intent.

What more can one expect from the festival of love?

Mon Parfum Cristal - a fragrance with soul

After the "regular" Mon Parfum by Martine Micallef couldn't reach me despite multiple intense tests, I am completely enchanted by Mon Parfum Cristal. During my last niche fragrance purchase, I ordered a sample of this scent because the fragrance notes appealed to me and perfectly matched my preferences.
Well... what can I say? It was love at first sniff, which is quite rare for me. But this fragrance is so wonderful, affectionate, caressing, and delicately enveloping that I was immediately in love and knew: "You MUST have this!"

Although notes like cinnamon, vanilla, and cream candy suggest a sweet, gourmand scent, that is not the case at all. It is by no means a sugary carnival fragrance, but - as is typical of the Micallef house - a highly feminine, delicately elegant, well-balanced fascinating composition.

Mon Parfum Cristal starts fruitily as expected. Dark berries, lightly adorned with a pinch of cinnamon, open the gate through which an opulent dark red, velvety full-blooded rose strides. It dances wonderfully in harmony with the dark berry sorbet, without being overly dominant.
As it develops, Madagascar vanilla joins in, bringing a sweet harmony to the blend. But not too sweet, as a very slight smoky spice is also perceptible. Wonderful! So harmonious, so gentle and soft, so noble.

In the base, caramelized cream and dark amber round off the fragrance into a dreamy composition.

The scent is profound and indescribably feminine. I don't see it on very young girls, but on somewhat older ladies who are successful in life yet fully aware of their femininity. Mon Parfum Cristal is not worn; it carries you! Like a gentle veil, it lifts you away, spins your head, and brings a smile to your face.

Beautiful - a truly special fragrance that touches the soul.

I find the longevity to be very good, and the sillage is noticeably perceptible, but not overwhelming.

So disappointed

A few days ago, I received 3 samples of perfumes.. I was so excited about Mon Parfum Crystal.. I had seen a review on YouTube where the scent was praised as an irresistible gourmand fragrance, a head-turner, guaranteed compliments, etc.. As a fan of gourmand scents, I was naturally very curious about this so-called jewel..

The scent is very orange and unfortunately it stains clothes and skin.. So be careful when testing. Don't spray it on your expensive cashmere sweater..

My first impression after spraying was very sobering.. An absolutely uninteresting orange "sauce" without any highlights. Cinnamon, where?? I smell zero cinnamon. Gourmand, no way.. Vanilla, where?? With a lot of goodwill, I unfortunately smell a boozy note and a quite piercing rose..
After half an hour, the scent reminds me of Ariel laundry detergent with a strange boozy note..

Boring and quite boozy..

Sweet?! Only a little. But a lot of luxurious rose cream with a soapy touch. I don’t smell vanilla or cinnamon. Nice, but the price-performance ratio is not nice at all.
