If everything has to be just right..
Do you know these people? Well - you probably are yourselves by now. A friend of mine gave me samples after we talked about fragrances once. And one of these samples was a small bottling - probably about 1-2ml - of tobacco vanilla. I do not want to question his motives... But he must have known it! If you ever sniff a scent like this, you are trapped. When you go to your own cheap stuff, the thought always remains: This scent from this friend is so incredibly cool. And suffer then the decision for the next niche fragrance was made, and suddenly you develop your own taste, and suddenly you feel situations where one fragrance fits more than the other, and it must always be right - at the same time you are looking for the next new experience, which leads to an explosion of your own emotional world, because you simply experience something completely new and in your own way perfect. Thank you perfume addiction. Thank you, you friend who gave me this sample. You have cost me so much money and I do not regret a single cent so far. ;-)

At first I was a little overwhelmed by the sweetness, but now I experience this fragrance as an extremely elegant scent. Meanwhile, I have tried some tobacco scents and vanilla gourmand scents, but I always come back to this scent. And unfortunately, it still spoils it for me... if I like a scent that goes in this direction, I can't help but compare it with tobacco vanilla. Means you put the new scent on your left wrist... ...usually the new scent hits first, then vanilla on the other wrist. Sorry Bro, but I'm perfection, tell me Tobacco Vanilla then, and I'll just say: F** you, but yes, you're right.

What strikes me is that Tobacco Vanilla is not necessarily the most interesting fragrance - it is very linear and one-dimensional for me, but for me it is at the same time unique and incredibly round. By this I mean that the components create a consistent and complete fragrance experience without being particularly sophisticated. Carefully dosed, it goes to every evening event and so far it is my Compliment Getter NO1 - by far. No fragrance has managed to provoke the words "what are you wearing, you smell good" more often than this fragrance.

At the same time, I don't feel like I'm indulging in a pure compliment getter and crowd pleaser, because this fragrance simply smells noble. And that's the point why I usually choose this scent when the situation calls for such a scent - while other tobacco and Gormand scents may well have something stifling for me, this scent is a thoroughly pleasant experience - which could also be a point of criticism, because it lacks provocation.

Whoever wears this fragrance does not want to play - he needs security, strange as it may sound. If everything has to be right on an evening, then any provocation is potentially too much, a stumbling block. Then you take a fragrance where everything is just right - and that's this one! But be careful with the Sillage, and if you do want to provoke, it can still be one more spray. ;-)

The scent of the mysterious and reserved thinker
Silk. No. Maybe it is. I was sceptical - but it was love at first sight. What's behind that scent is the mysterious. It is not a deep secret that this fragrance carries - but it is the mysterious, it is the thoughtful, it represents for me the multi-faceted and at the same time complicated human being. Whoever wears this fragrance doesn't necessarily want to please - and yet he does. This fragrance is literally a veil, a dark and romantic companion. And by romanticism I don't mean the eroticism of a cuddly scent, it is the romanticism of the ambivalence of being human. The human being who is searching for meaning, and not despairing - no, he feels comfortable in this search.

The fragrance consists of incredibly tasteful rose scents - and these are also enveloped, and I don't like to explain what it is. Sandalwood? Oud? Patchouli? In the meantime I have tested so many fragrances, and it is often easy to extract the beauty of individual components. Here it's different: the interaction of the components creates something wonderful and very unique and for me indescribable.

I have to think of a dark purple - and whenever I wear an elegant shirt - which is not quite black, but rather very carefully immersed in dark shades of red, this fragrance fits perfectly. Do you know which shirt I mean? The official name of my shirt is plum. :-) And this fragrance is perfect for exactly these situations, when you need that certain icing on the cake without screaming too loud or being extravagant. Just like the shirt, which may look black at first glance, but hides something else entirely. That's the elegant side of the fragrance, but for me the fragrance carries something else entirely.

Do you know those, possibly late puberty, young people who lose themselves in the poetry of philosophy - and who are very mysterious in their way, not really annoying but not quite fitting in this world. Also here: This fragrance carries exactly this mysterious component of a mysterious but - for me - young, masculine person. No macho. It is the fragrance of the mysterious and rather reserved thinker

Actually I thought - that's it with Tom Ford, I've tried so much, my journey must continue. And then I get a sample and it goes boom again. The fragrance is so incredibly round and tells a story, it is linear but incredibly interesting. My conflict with Tom Ford is the image of the brand, ostentatious - a real bonze shop. But the perfumers behind these creations create a fantastic escape from this world with fragrances like Oud Fleur and give our stories a fitting scent - and we give the fragrances a story

The adult, faithful companion... ...how I learned to stand firm!
Fragrances? A few years ago I thought of AXE advertising and penetrating chocolate scents of various shower gels, which boldly described themselves as sensual. What was left over when the boys sprayed themselves with deodorants in the changing room after gym class. To be honest, I couldn't do anything with perfume at that time. But one evening - it was a special, personal occasion - I wanted everything to be just right. It was about the "reconquest" of a woman (well, in retrospect it was a wasted effort, but that was certainly not due to the BdC... :-)).

In retrospect I was unsure about myself and was urgently looking for something to hold on to! So I went to the Douglas, shyly unsure. I didn't really know what I wanted and what I was doing there. I was more of a lost fawn that had got confused on a highway, so I experienced the sensory overload. And what shone there on a shelf: Bleu De Chanel. First on a test strip, it had something of the typical idea of an "inconspicuous, masculine but very special scent" - hey, that just smells good, I thought! For me it was more than the classic clean man shower scent, but not too much either. Just what I wanted. Security.

It was just "somehow a lemon scent" but even my naive nose thought, there would be something very special and elegant! Of course, Chanel was a household name to me - an iconic symbol of luxury without being chunky or provocative. Boy, back then, those gold bars in the perfumeries had me confused!

So off with it on the neck, I thought. Just to test. For me, BdC was the gateway drug to a future hobby that I could not afford at that time. Again and again an overwhelming impression flew up my nose, and it was simply an incredibly interesting and complex sensual experience. This is how Bleu De Chanel EDP will remain in my memory. I got to know him during a phase in which I went through some personal changes. That phase was difficult and complicated and sometimes hurtful. I was looking for a firm foothold and Bleu De Chanel was my faithful companion in this process.

In retrospect I would say: BdC is not mine at all. So no fragrance that really suits me. I find the citric notes to a certain extent too heavy and too consistent, as if other components hardly had any room to play. I try it again and again: On the one hand it awakens some memories in me, on the other hand I am desperately looking for a depth I simply cannot find. When it comes to citric everyday scents, I still find Bleu De Chanel EDP very good, it is elegant and looks high-quality. BDC is not a chav, it's a grown-up through and through.

And so Bleu De Chanel was exactly what I needed at that time. An anchor to hold on to. In its consistency, Bleu De Chanel offers stability and support - it allowed me to wear this high-quality fragrance without being too heavy a burden on my own shoulder. And in this consistency, Bleu De Chanel is ingenious and sincere without appearing arrogant. Instead, Bleu De Chanel gave me a secure hold. But today I am looking for the game - distraction, provocation, expressiveness, the playfulness in the game of life... :-)

Tom Ford London? Tom Ford Hamburg! Love of the port city...
When you walk through the Elbe beach in Hamburg, your feet get dirty. Diesel tankers pump exhaust fumes into the air, the port is constantly toiling. It's rough, you might think - but I know you feel incredibly comfortable in this city. Because in all the routine there is a calm and a self-image of togetherness, which is not at all strikingly affectionate, but respectful and true.

Even the streets full of glamour have something very set in their appearance, there is no such thing as chic, or is not well received, and is not Hamburg at all. But I have never smelled a fragrance that screamed for Hamburg as much as this one. With this scent I feel comfortable in Hamburg, then when it rains, as so often. Because it is the distillate of what I like so much about the city. Maritime notes join a gentle and reserved elegance - the fragrance doesn't scream: Yes, here I am! Look at me! Instead, it radiates a calm and incredible power, it is diverse and interesting, it is rough and carries the soul of the sea.

It is the fragrance for all those who want to make a sedate, calm and therefore all the more mysterious impression. If you think with the standard designer aquatic scents and sparkling citrus scents that you are screaming too much without having an effect, this is the right place for you. Oud Mineralé or as he is called: Tom Ford Hamburg. It has a unique effect and yet remains down-to-earth, it is cosy and pleasing, and yet remains calm and rough and windy.

What a pity that this fragrance is discontinued - I have only just fallen in love with this fragrance
