From the landscape of Corsica..
This fragrance simply takes me back to my Corsican vacations.

The warm, resinous, leathery start reminds me of the austere, warm scent of pine trees in the bay of Calvi.
As the fragrance progresses, this impression blurs with salty notes, like the sea breeze that constantly drifts through the bay. You stand on the beach in front of the pines and breathe in the cool sea air.
Finally, the fragrance takes you into the Corsican maquis - the dry scent of immortelle blends with the other impressions and becomes the mountain air that you breathe in when you climb Calvi's local mountain, the Capu di a Veta, and look out from the maquis over the golden-yellow fields of immortelle grown by Corsican farmers, all the way to the coast.

For me, the scent is simply a nostalgic yet incredibly sensual experience that makes me reminisce about beach walks, cliff jumping and mountain hikes. A small (and quite affordable) 30ml bottle will most likely be joining my collection very soon.

A few words about the H/S, price and season:

The fragrance lasts longer than average, yesterday on my skin at 26°C it was 9-10 hours in which I could clearly perceive the fragrance.
The sillage is also good, in the first few hours the fragrance radiated at least 1-2 meters and even after that I could still perceive it well in the air even as a wearer.

The price is quite good. Especially with the generous dose of immortelle, which is very expensive as a raw material (about 100kg of flowers make one liter of oil).

In my opinion, the fragrance can be worn at any time of the year, but I recommend it the most even in summer, as it harmonizes very well with the heat and simply smells like dry, Corsican air to me.

From Hawaiian beaches // a broken bottle?
I ordered this fragrance on Maxaroma shortly before a two-week trip to Hawaii.

When I arrived in Hawaii, on the very first day, I went for a walk on the beach at 5:50 in the morning to watch the sunrise. I imagined what the ozone would smell like - salty ocean freshness, sweet morning air, creamy salty driftwood and the sweet smell of coconuts. I realized that this was almost exactly the smell I had in my nose at that moment on the beach. Full of anticipation, I took one deep breath after another, sucking in what felt like all the air on the beach. I was dreaming, raving; about the beautiful sunrise, the olfactory overstimulation, about the ozone of my dreams. A short time later, I found a coconut, which I painstakingly opened on a stone in the remaining red of the sunrise and then tasted - this gave me the coconut smell that I had previously been missing from my olfactory analysis of the beach. The perfect ozone had been created.

When I returned from Hawaii two weeks later, I enthusiastically picked up the package from a neighbor and opened it in my bedroom. I immediately sprayed on the fragrance.

...it was different to how I imagined it on the beach. At first, the driftwood and fresh sea breeze stayed away. Instead, a strong citrus note was in the foreground at the beginning. This was followed by a sweet, slightly synthetic coconut. In the DD, the fragrance went in a (still) coconutty, mocha-esque and slightly mineral-woody direction with a small dose of ambergris.

Even though the fragrance didn't live up to my dream of the beaches of Hawaii, it has become one of the absolute favorites in my collection. It's a true work of art that can still be worn every day and goes down extremely well with people; the very first day I wore it, my doctor commented on how great I smelled today...only my mother can't stand the scent (like so much of the perfume I wear) so dear Mr. Ozone stays in the closet when I visit her.

The only thing I don't really like about the fragrance is the bottle; it occasionally leaks a little. However, this is the only one of the three ATH bottles I own that has this problem. Therefore, I don't think that the problem will occur with many - I usually rate the other bottles of the brand with an 8.

The fragrance lasts extremely long on the skin for a summery scent, like everything from dear Aaron, and radiates a good meter in the air. It's not a room filler, but that's a good thing in my opinion; you don't have to be able to use everything to fumigate a wasps' nest.

If you find a way to buy Ozone, or any other ATH fragrance, keep in mind that Aaron also makes the scents in 10ml bottles. I would definitely recommend buying one of these bottles, especially for Aaron's slightly more spaced out, fetishistic fragrances such as "Luna (2023) | Aaron Terence Hughes".

I hope my review has convinced one or two people to take a closer look at Aaron Terence Hughes and support his company. Have a nice evening.

What can I say..
...Sauvage is simply a timeless classic. And the EdP version takes away some ambroxan and replaces it with more lightness and freshness, which makes this version less penetrating and mMm also better.

Sauvage EdP is just a pretty much perfect perfume. It does exactly what it's supposed to and then some. Fresh, peppery and slightly pungent...like stepping out of the shower. As mentioned, less ambroxan, but in the Sauvage family that means little, as there are still tons of the stuff in there, of course.

The younger, inconspicuous brother of the original simply comes across as more grown-up and likeable, with more spice and less kick.

For the €80 I paid, this is definitely my best perfume investment to date.

Comfort in a bottle
"Tougher, Daddy" is not on the program here. Because this daddy is a very gentle one.

At the beginning, the fragrance is quite strong and woody. Apple and oud are extremely prominent for a short time. But the edginess quickly fades and what remains is an incredibly cozy-smelling musk fragrance with a slightly masculine edge and lots of spice.

The fragrance is extremely strong. One spray and you are enveloped in a huge, airy, fluffy cloud of musk for at least 6 hours. The fragrance is still perceptible the day after. It is almost immortal on clothing.

As is typical for ATH, the price-performance ratio is absolutely top. I don't have the problem that the apple is so dominant on my skin, it is only in the foreground for a few minutes and then only slightly noticeable.

The cherry-ventus
The title may be confusing... What I mean is that this fragrance simply has an extremely pleasing DNA, even if it is clearly a niche fragrance for me.

It starts with a sour, slightly synthetic cherry note; it reminds me strongly of the little cherry lollipops that used to be served at carnival. At the beginning, the fragrance is a little scratchy, but in a good way.
Then the fragrance takes a slightly sweeter, rounder and fuller direction. The cherry remains, but the fragrance becomes a little sweeter and woodier. A little marzipan also joins in.
Ultimately, what remains is a sweet cherry with slight woody and alcoholic notes.

I believe that the synthetic sour cherry with the woods is what gives the fragrance this incredibly pleasing DNA. It is quite unusual, but it just seems to appeal to everyone.

H/S are, as is typical for Aaron, very good, even if "Raw Cherry" is rather in the lower mid-range of Aaron's gourmand fragrances.

P/L is simply top, especially with all the high-quality materials that Aaron uses in his fragrances; I still don't know how he doesn't do a minus business.

Great fragrance with a clear sample recommendation. The next restock will be on Aaron's website in January.
