Are you in control of him or is he in control of you?
Briefly the factual information:
1) haven't smelled anything comparable yet
2) any sea-fantasy metaphor in a fragrance
3) H/S from another world

This fragrance is an experience. You embark on a journey and somehow wander between a fresh breeze and a tsunami, between cliff jumping and belly flops, between Aquaman and the enchanted souls from Pirates of the Caribbean.

I made a big mistake and sprayed TWO (!) sprays on my left arm. After the first "WOOOOOW what the hell is that??!" I put on a jacket at some point...and I've never experienced that before: from the outside - although never sprayed on the clothes - you could smell for days on the clothes that I myself was looking for living proof of the existence of the megalodon in the depths of the oceans.

I immediately loved the scent, but was swept away by a wave of salt-ambroxan-musk-freshness-spice-metal that is difficult to describe. For the first (10 to 15?) HOURS, you keep getting this wave in your nose. And yes, in your eyes too. It's like swallowing salt water and being taken in by the whims of the tides.

In the end, I have the feeling that I have to admit to myself that even in my mid-30s, as an extrovert, I am not (yet) up to this scent.
24 hours and a shower later, the mega waves were tamed and maritime peace returned: The scent was still not skin-deep (!) and clearly perceptible, now for me to act and really pleasant. Like freshly bathed in the sea, the salt still on my skin.

Back to a bit of objectivity and a recommendation: if you want to test bottlings or several fragrances, you should stay away from this one.
The rest of the fragrance journey is then delayed by two days. H/S are a 100 out of 10. If you go on vacation for a week, you can layer with "Molecule 01 | Escentric Molecules" or "Molecule 02 | Escentric Molecules" - may Poseidon be with you then!
Great cost/wear ratio, as half a spray is absolutely enough.

Somehow it has cast a spell over me, but I'll take a swimming course before I buy it.

Oh, vetiver can smell sooooo good?!
Vetiver and patchouli are a bit of a problem for me: they quickly become too grassy and sour, too edgy.
I tested the new vetiver from Guerlain in the perfume concentration in Paris and was absolutely in love with it. An absolute revelation for me, HOW FRESH and energetic well blended vetiver can smell. Licorice and tonka bean round off the fragrance perfectly. An experience from top note to DD and a safe, discreet companion. Coriander and juniper blend in just as skillfully. At the beginning like freshly showered (according to a friend), the fragrance never becomes too dry or unpleasantly grassy/sour. A great companion for spring, which is subtle in terms of sillage but lasts a long time. An outstanding release to my nose (it's amazing what Guerlain has delivered so far in 2024 with three new men's releases, all of high quality), Guerlain also sets standards in terms of value for money as always.

"Du riachst so guad" - a tribute to the fist of my 20s
That was quite a shock: the perfume that has been with me since its release for my graduation in 2009, of which I must have already sprayed 600ml, is given a 6.2 by the Parfumo community. Whether this is objectively justified or whether I simply have bad taste is not for me to judge. I lack any objectivity about this fist, which only the brave can cope with ;)

This perfume showed me personally and still does today what a fragrance, a bottle and branding can mean. During my time at university, I only wore this perfume out of conviction and received tons of compliments. If I had the jitters before an exam, I clenched my fist, sprayed a drop left and right and was "brave". I loved the youthful power and uncomplicated nature of this perfume. It always went everywhere and was my universally known and truly universally loved signature fragrance. I don't know how many of my friends also bought Fist, I just know that a lot of them asked me about the fragrance. So does everyone have no taste now?
My true love whispered "du riachst so guad" in my ear during our first close encounter on a shared couch in a magical dialect. It sticks in your mind and stays with you.
What may sound like a naive, self-absorbed gigolo boy at first glance could just as easily be a fist to the pampered niche noses at second glance. Of course this fragrance doesn't have an exciting scent progression, of course the DNA from 2009 isn't the latest. And yet I still like the fragrance. Because it is fresh. Because it conjures up images and situations in my head. Because it is never too loud and yet never quiet. Because it always works. And because it's the only fist that should be on the nose ;)

I ended up here at Parfumo because I felt I had somewhat outgrown the 200ml bottle, having matured from a student to a grown man (with childlike energy). I had smelled my fill and wanted to reflect my further development in terms of fragrance.
Now the bottle has been sitting unused for a few weeks and I have found my way to supposedly more exciting fragrances in the designer and niche world.

This morning, however, the path led me back. Rainy, cold and wet, I didn't really want to get out of bed. Fist sprayed on. I immediately had to smile. I just love the scent. And strangely enough, I was asked about it straight away - never the case with all the test orgies of the last few weeks! - and discovered that Faust not only looks good as a bottle in the wardrobe, but can also find its way onto the skin in my mid-30s. And that doesn't take much courage.

Since when has the Eisbach been sticky?
Disclaimer first: I was born and live in Munich, so the evaluation of the fragrance may be influenced by the name.

"Do you already know the Munich niche brand Lengling? No? You have to try the Eisbach, especially as a Munich resident"

Eisbach then. I expect to cool off. A Bavarian attitude to life. An energetic statement that fits Munich's self-image "mia san mia" just as well as the internationally renowned Eisbach wave. Surfing all year round, drifting through the Eisbach and then taking the streetcar (yes, that's tolerated^^) back. I have countless memories of this cool water, all of them positive. I know this lifeline of the metropolis from the water and from the banks. I know every corner.

And hope for a green, light fragrance with an aquatic touch.
Ok, high expectations for a perfume. May not be fair. But it wasn't the perfume for me either...

The first breeze reminds me more of a barbershop, comes around the corner very fougé. But not bad at all. Tangy grapefruit at least goes well with some hipster beer mixes that young people might drink on the riverbank. The lavender also brings some freshness and probably provides the barber's touch.
Unfortunately, the mimosa really asserts itself after a short time, the fragrance becomes unpleasantly sweet and seems completely unbalanced to me. It's a really sticky and damned sticky concoction. Associations with the Balea Men beard care product line come to mind. And the product range is also far too sweet. The fragrance is unisex, but not sexy and fresh, or at least not for long. Where the Eisbach has a clear course, the imaginary homage revolves around mimosa and lavender. I read mint, tea and basil. Maybe there were a few seconds of that to smell...I don't know, I've practically forgotten the scent, although it still sticks to my arm in a sweet, muddy way. Surely it can't be the only association that makes you want to jump into the Eisbach stream!!!

The bottle capsule can imitate Isar pebbles all it wants, the sillage and shelf life can be above average...I am unfortunately disappointed.

This perfume reflects the dark side of Munich - expensive because there is enough Diridari (money). Lots of marketing, lots of big city, lots of blah blah blah...a bit of hipster barbershop and lots of tacky decadence.

Only the Eisbach I search in vain.
I would have been very happy and would also have spent too high a price for a cool fresh German niche brand from Munich. I would also have fallen for clever marketing and really wanted to like the fragrance because of its name. Unfortunately, the fragrance is not a success, even apart from the completely botched naming (which happens quite often). And the Lenglings are clearly more at home in Neuhausen and Maximilianstraße than on the Eisbach.
