I don't really know how to describe it now.

The fragrance itself is actually beautiful. Of course, you have to have a penchant for spicy fragrances, otherwise you've come to the wrong place.

So we got the samples of The Scent sent home and my wife first thought to herself: Oh yes, I like it. The next day she put it on for work to see if it might be something longer-lasting. When she got home, the first thing she did was throw the sweater in the laundry basket and frantically wash it off everywhere. I don't know why, but after a few hours the scent left a urine-like odor on her skin that was absolutely unbearable. On my skin, the scent didn't develop as badly. There was more of a strong spicy note left behind in the drydown, but I still have something to say about the longevity.

I applied the fragrance in the afternoon. It was two sprays from a 1.2ml tester. So really not a huge amount applied.

I took a shower that evening and slept afterwards. I got up the next day, washed my arm again and then used a brush and soap at lunchtime because the scent wouldn't come off my skin. When my wife came home from work, she could still smell it on me. I also noticed it every time I moved and typed on the keyboard in my home office. This has never happened to me before with almost any perfume.

This stuff is really crazy.

I still don't know what to make of this fragrance. But it's definitely not a crowd pleaser. Unfortunately, most of the people around me thought the scent was only "okay" because they are normally used to better from me.

The scent could be so nice with its salt, linalool / Nivea cream base but for me it completely ruins the interplay of the penetrating citronella / cinnamon note. I spend a lot of time in nature and I usually use citronella to repel mosquitoes. Unfortunately, the smell I get there is what I get here with the 40 Knots.

I can imagine that it is good for keeping the mosquitoes away on an evening at the lake / sea. I expected so much from this combination and was unfortunately disappointed by Xerjoff. For people who have worn everything, the 40 Knots could be something, because it is definitely out of the ordinary.

I would definitely describe the longevity as good, whereas the sillage is not bombastic. In any case, it is not a very loud fragrance and tends to radiate closer to the skin.

If you wait a few hours and the citronella / cinnamon combination has slowly but surely disappeared, then I find the fragrance quite interesting. In its current state, however, I won't be wearing it.

The fragrance somehow reminds me of a mixture of Le Male and One Million, only somehow more sophisticated with this acidity that is often found in Xerjoff fragrances. The fragrance doesn't seem cheap or anything else, but very high quality. For me, as someone who doesn't like the One Million DNA at all, it is somehow difficult to like this fragrance. However, from a completely objective point of view, it is of course a very nice fragrance! I would definitely describe the longevity as above average and would also say that it is definitely a very good fragrance.

I can basically smell it all day long when I've sprayed it and I don't really have that with many fragrances.

You are also definitely noticed by others for a long time. My wife could still smell it very well in the evening after a day at the office, which speaks for a top sillage.

Especially in the first two hours, it exudes a really strong scent. Once it has calmed down a bit, it definitely becomes more sociable for me because this One Million DNA disappears somewhat. I found out that carboxylic acid esters are used in the fragrance, and in the first hour they create a scent that is almost reminiscent of "ice candy". For many young people, this fragrance may be exactly what they are looking for.

When I heard "Orange Flamingo", I somehow imagined something completely different. It's a soapy musk bomb where the orange is definitely in the background. I imagined it to be a little more fruity and Mediterranean. Anyone who likes to smell like a well-groomed lady 65+ will get their money's worth here.
