When the cherry pop's too soon..
The name is definitely fitting for this fragrance! Unfortunately, that doesn't only have advantages..
As soon as you spray this fragrance for the first time, it feels as if you are trapped in a basket of cherries. If you generally don't like cherry, you don't have to test this fragrance. For everyone looking for the perfect cherry scent: This could be it. Absolutely authentic and dreamy.
A sweet, authentic cherry note in the opening, a woody-sweet drydown, where the cherry remains prominent due to the linearity of the fragrance,... Simply absolutely seductive!
Unfortunately, the name is quite aptly chosen in two respects:
- Due to the seductiveness of the fragrance, the name definitely applies
- The cherry unfortunately fades away too quickly..
The longevity of this fragrance really leaves much to be desired.. Just a few hours of enjoyment and then that's it for the scent. Really a shame, as this is one of my absolute favorite fragrance DNAs and the scent ranks somewhere in the top 5 of the best fragrances I have ever smelled.
For the price, it's unfortunately only conditionally recommendable. €285 for 50ML is absolutely outrageous. However, if you can snag the fragrance for €150 / 50ML, you should definitely go for it without hesitation.
Lost Cherry remains one of the best fragrances in my collection when it comes to the DNA. It is indispensable. Perfect for autumn and winter, absolutely seductive and worn by a woman, it's dreamy - but for me, it's completely unisex.
All in all, a successful fragrance. You get what it says on the label.. Tom Ford didn't have to take the name so seriously, but at least we can't complain that we didn't know what to expect. I don't know what else you might have thought of with that name..

Better than the original?
This fragrance is sometimes labeled as an Aventus dupe - for me, that's completely unjustified, I can say that right away. But is it really better than Aventus?
I don't think I need to go into Aventus itself, most of you should know it by now.
Orion is clearly a fragrance that has taken inspiration from Aventus, which becomes evident when you read through the fragrance pyramid. However, I believe that Orion stands on its own as a fragrance.
In the opening, I find Orion immediately more exciting than the original. I get a lot of woody notes, much more present and dominant than in Aventus. Furthermore, the green notes come through right away. The pineapple, in my opinion, is in the background at the beginning (for about the first 30 minutes) and plays hide and seek behind the woody notes. After about 30 minutes, I can perceive the pineapple note much better. Additionally, I notice a pleasant, smoky component. This is exactly what I felt was missing in the new Aventus batches during testing.
I find the opening quite loud. Green, slightly smoky woods with a hint of fruit. However, it doesn't stay that extreme throughout.
The scent is quite linear. As mentioned, I only really notice the pineapple after a few minutes. Before that, it's a nice interplay of woody notes combined with green notes and a pleasant, light fruity touch, mainly consisting of pineapple - I also perceive a nice, green apple.
In the drydown (as already mentioned: the scent is quite linear in my opinion, so the drydown isn't completely crazy), the woody notes come through again. The fruity aspect remains consistently present but slowly fades away as the scent becomes skin-close.
Although oud is listed in the fragrance, I generally do not perceive any oud.
In the end, I then perceive a skin-close, creamy blend triggered by woods, amber, and musk. Very pleasant, I think.
Before I discuss the performance, I can say that this fragrance, while inspired by Aventus, is not a dupe. I believe it should be treated as a standalone fragrance. Good job, Paolo!
The performance is decent. For me, this fragrance is suitable for all seasons and has signature potential, especially in spring and summer, I find this scent perfect. It lasts about 6-8 hours on me, after which it slowly but surely becomes skin-close. It's not a beast, but to be honest, I don't need only beasts in my collection. Therefore, I give it an 8/10.
The sillage is noticeable at short distances but doesn't shout at your surroundings. The sillage is thus perceptible but still quite moderate - again, pleasant for me, as I have enjoyed wearing this fragrance in the office and will wear it again once I am back in the office.
I must say, however, that I have heard all sorts of things regarding the performance, ranging from 3 to 10 hours. So please make your own judgment about the fragrance and don't be swayed or deterred by distorted reviews.
In terms of price/performance, I find the fragrance to be reasonable. €2.40 per milliliter is not the end of the world, plus it is cheaper than Aventus and has the usual Tiziana Terenzi presentation and bottle quality (including a cap that you could certainly cause damage with, given how heavy it is).
However, I got the fragrance for €130. So it can be cheaper. And for that price, it is definitely recommended in terms of P/L. +
In conclusion, I can only advise you: Make your own judgment about Orion. I think it's great and would recommend it blindly to anyone. For me, it is the more mature Aventus. More edges and corners. All in all, a top release from the Terenzis.
And again: For me, it is definitely NOT a dupe. It improves on many aspects that Aventus did poorly for me.
So yes - Orion is better than its original for me. Very good work, Paolo.

Is this the Best Gourmand?
I first smelled Oajan when I visited a niche perfumery for the first time. It was recommended to me by the consultant, and as soon as I smelled it, I knew immediately: I have to take this one with me!
I am a big fan of gourmands, that's no big secret. For me personally, Oajan is the best gourmand I have ever smelled and is also very high on my list of top fragrances.
With Oajan, I immediately get a sweet apple note (Yes, there is no apple listed here, I know). This is accompanied by a lot of cinnamon and a beautifully creamy honey note. It feels a bit like a freshly baked apple pie where a little too much cinnamon accidentally ended up in the dough.
As it develops, I then perceive a gentle vanilla note, which is accompanied by tonka beans. It is fundamentally a very linear scent, but I find that good in this case!
When I smell the fragrance, I immediately envision a Christmas market. Baked apples, apple pie, cinnamon, vanilla... simply divine. Anyone who likes gourmands and hasn't tested this scent yet is missing out, and I think I'm not promising too much. I even dare to say that as a gourmand lover, you can't not like this scent.
The longevity is incredibly strong. The record on my wrist in summer was 22 hours (of course, that was up close), and it was only after showering that this scent was gone the next morning. In everyday life, I perceive the scent for about 8 hours, and those around me can also sense it for a very long time, as the fragrance has an astonishing projection & sillage. It will definitely carry you through an entire day - effortlessly.
You really have to be careful not to overspray this scent - once it's on, you won't get rid of it for a long time.
Price/performance-wise, I have nothing to complain about. €225 for 125ML, with atomic performance, an incredibly beautiful DNA, and a quality bottle is perfectly fine for me, especially since there are discount codes available.
In conclusion, I can only say that this scent is mouthwatering. I can't imagine winter without this fragrance. If you're looking for a perfect gourmand, you should definitely test this scent. For me, Oajan is by far the best PdM fragrance.
Not everything that glitters is gold - but this scent definitely is.

The somewhat different gourmand... or is it oriental?
When I first smelled the fragrance in the summer of 2021, I knew immediately that it had to be in my collection as soon as possible. At that time, it was my absolute favorite of all the Xerjoffs I had tested, although I only knew a few Xerjoffs at that point. About 20 tested Xerjoffs later, my opinion has not changed; despite the widely differing opinions, this is definitely my favorite Xerjoff - and thus one of the best fragrances I have ever smelled and the absolute favorite from my collection.
Describing the scent is relatively difficult for me, as it goes in several directions:
With the exotic spices in the top note and a hint of oud (admittedly not really noticeable), it clearly leans towards an oriental direction. However, it is not a pure oriental, as it is unusually sweet. And here comes the second direction:
With coffee, cocoa, and hazelnut, it clearly goes in a gourmand direction. I have also heard several times that a hint of Nutella is perceived here, but I wouldn't describe it that way. Since, as mentioned above, it also goes in an oriental direction, it is again not a clear gourmand for me. I really have my problems categorizing this fragrance clearly.
I would therefore say that the Golden Dallah can be classified as an "oriental gourmand." In my opinion, it balances perfectly in the middle.
I can understand the opinions, but one should not let them influence you. Fortunately, I smelled the fragrance before I read some reviews.
The longevity is, for me, rated at 9/10 points. It lasts easily 10+ hours on my skin, and on clothing, it is clearly noticeable until laundry.
The sillage is also outstanding, as it should be for a fragrance in this category. Here, I would also lean towards a 9.
The fragrance itself is a clear 10/10 for me. I love gourmands, I love coffee in fragrances, and I also like oriental scents, so this fragrance hits the mark completely.
In terms of price-performance ratio, I find the fragrance top-notch. €240 for 50ml including the usual Xerjoff quality and presentation is perfectly fine for me, especially since you can often find the fragrance for €192 with a 20% discount voucher.
If you are a fan of gourmands, orientals, coffee scents - or even better: of everything at once, I would clearly recommend this fragrance to you.

Definitely not love at first sight
This scent was definitely anything but "love on the first sniff".
I was given this fragrance because it was too strong for my mother, and she didn't know what to do with it. Admittedly, something bothered me about this scent at first too. I just didn't know exactly what it was.
Two and a half years went by during which this fragrance sat unused and sadly on my shelf. Time and again, I smelled it, occasionally applied it to my wrist, and again and again, I didn't know whether I loved or hated this scent.
In the meantime, I have come to love this fragrance and must say, it is definitely in my top 3 designer scents. And that, despite the fact that it once ranked very low.
The opening of this fragrance is absolutely room-filling. When I spray this scent, I am overwhelmed by a dark, dirty cloud of fragrance.
2-3 sprays of this scent and you can get through the entire day without any further problems.
I don't know exactly what it is, but I perceive something slightly chocolatey in this scent. Very dark, black, bitter chocolate. And otherwise, just indescribable dark and dirty notes for me, combined with a very dark floral touch.
The sillage and longevity of this fragrance are atomic. As already mentioned, 2-3 sprays carry me through a full day, and I am not overpowering in the meantime. Definitely not suitable for closed spaces, unless you want your office all to yourself.
For me, this is an absolute unisex scent. Neither leaning masculine nor feminine, as all directions are covered here. This fragrance is definitely not one that only receives good remarks.
One should say, though: if you want to receive endless compliments, you should keep a good distance from this scent - otherwise, others will do it.
