A fragrance with a lot of love - Tanto Amore by Zara
After I tested my first Zara fragrance this week (Somewoody) and was really pleasantly surprised, here are my impressions of the second fragrance I bought called "Tanto Amore". Again, the bottle is kept simple, blue colored glass and a dark imitation wood lid. The shape of the bottle is very similar to the Mancera bottles. Only the sprayer could be a little better.

The design conveys a cool, clean, fresh and aquatic first impression. And this is also the case with the fragrance - it is clearly a "blue fragrance". I immediately thought of a certain proximity to Yves Saint Laurent Y, which may be due to the fact that some of the fragrance notes are the same, such as juniper berry, sage, lavender and vetiver. But it is by no means a copy, it just has a certain similarity. In the top note, the blood orange is very noticeable, giving the fragrance a fruity, fresh feel. As mentioned, the heart note is similar to YSL Y and the finish is slightly woody. There are currently many fragrances on the market that follow this pattern, but Zara does it quite well here, because the interplay of the fragrance notes is quite successful. The composition stands out somewhat from other blue fragrances, but does not forget the familiar characteristics of just such fragrances: Fresh, clean, slightly aquatic, slightly woody - you can't go wrong here, the fragrance can be used anywhere. Above all, I think of sun, beach, vacation in Italy, Spain or the South of France. The longevity is good for such a fragrance, I get 7-8 hours, sillage is also good.

Conclusion:

Tanto Amore has convinced me. It is a good "blue" fragrance that makes you feel good. The H&S is good and the price-performance ratio is top. You can't go wrong here. I will become a Zara fan if the quality of other fragrances from the brand is this good.

Zara Somewoody or rather "Alexandria ll L'Eau"
The Somewoody is my first fragrance from Zara and what can I say ... pretty awesome. As a big fan of Xerjoff Alexandria ll, I became aware of Somewoody, which is supposed to smell similar to the aforementioned Xerjoff. I figured for under 20 euros it wouldn't hurt if the fragrance was a disappointment. When the package arrived and I took the perfume out of the box, I was struck by the simple but beautiful bottle. I didn't wait long and applied the fragrance to the back of my hand with two sprays, waiting a few seconds to finally smell it.

My first impression was: Wow, the resemblance to the original is right there.

The fragrance doesn't smell cheap at all, which might be suggested by its low price. The opposite is the case, it smells very classy and high-quality. What I personally can smell is definitely the lavender, sandalwood and oud, as well as the special and great symbiosis of the other fragrance notes. Anyone who knows what Alexandria ll smells like will understand what I mean. What has to be said, however, is that the Somewoody is not as loud and intense as the original. But that's not a negative thing at all, as Alexandria has already earned me negative comments due to its very strong persistence and sillage. You just have to be careful with the dosage. The Zara Somewoody is slightly watered down, not so obtrusive and can be worn anywhere in my opinion. The longevity is good, the sillage is perceptible for the first 2.5 hours, but not too strong and then gradually decreases. I get a longevity of about 8 hours with the fragrance.

The fragrance could also be called "Alexandria ll L'Eau" and cost ten times as much with the different branding on the bottle.

Whether you can/want to pay the high price for the original is up to you. Personally, I will continue to celebrate the Xerjoff, but will no longer be prepared to spend so much money on it. With the Zara Somewoody, you can get an "Alexandria ll L'Eau" for a fraction of the price. This one scores with a good H&S and almost the same fragrance experience as the Xerjoff. It's always amazing to see how little money you can get such a fragrance for. Or to put it another way, how much you have to put on the counter for a fragrance.

Conclusion:

Zara Somewoody - pleasant woody fragrance suitable for everyday use with good H&S at a low price

Alexandria ll - pleasing fragrance suitable for special occasions with very, very good H&S at a very high price

Which one to wear in the end, everyone decides for themselves.
