Maracuja in a smoking suit
Feeling comfortable and in concordance / agreement with how this fragrance hits my senses / just the way it was made. It just fits every perfection / imperfection button in my nose and balances those out, leaving just a total agreement from my side, if that makes sense. Even if it pushes me out of my comfort zone due to the slightly bitter side of the Maracuja (apart from sweet and fruity).
Also, the Maracuja (Passion Fruit) and Leather contrast is just divine, and I usually never end up liking leather scents at all. It feels in this case like these notes conform a perfect symbiosis.
Well done.
(I haven't smelled the original Tony Iommi Monkey Special )

A portable twin
I had the opportunity to test the Mysterium in a bottling, and I have to say that in many ways this fragrance comes very close to the scent DNA of Xerjoff Tony Iommi Monkey Special.

The similarities are definitely there, especially in the initial phase. Unfortunately, the Tony Iommi seems a bit synthetic and piercing at the beginning, which sets it apart from the Xerjoff. But, that's not necessarily a bad thing!

What impressed me the most is how fruity Mysterium is compared to Tony Iommi. It's definitely less musty, especially on dry-down, and feels much lighter and fresher. The Xerjoff of course remains the more premium scent, with its nuanced depth and complex structure, but Mysterium is a really good value alternative for me that smells really, really similar, especially in the air.

I tested the two fragrances right next to each other (on the backs of both hands), and as I also have a bottling of the Tony Iommi, I could clearly see the similarities. I would say they are 85-90 percent similar. Of course, the Xerjoff feels more refined and deeper, but the Mysterium still smells really good and is along the same lines.

Longevity: 9/10 - I felt the fragrance on my skin for 9 hours. It's more than enough for a party night. But the Xerjoff naturally lasts longer and is more elegant overall.
Sillage: 8/10 - Perceptible, especially in the air, which for me is perfectly fine for the price.
Fragrance DNA: 8/10 - Even if it doesn't have the sophistication of Xerjoff, it captures the striking, masculine, wild essence of the two very well.
Flacon: I only have one bottling, but the flacon could perhaps be a little more appealing for the price.

Conclusion:
As I find this fragrance DNA really exceptional, I will probably go for the cheaper alternative for the time being. All in all, a clear recommendation for me!

Mystery of Paris Corner - The better Iommi?
Mysterium is exactly what the name promises: a fragrance full of secrets - only here you don't have to puzzle over why it smells so damn good! Anyone who knows the Tony Iommi Monkey Special by Xerjoff (and was perhaps disappointed) should take a good sniff here.

Because yes - Mysterium is very similar to the Xerjoff hit, but it simply makes more of it: the fruity opening with passion fruit and cinnamon really hits the spot without overdoing it. It then continues with a slightly dark heart of rose, leather and incense, reminiscent of a night-time stroll through a mystical orchard - but in a cool way. And the base of patchouli, labdanum and sandalwood rounds off the whole thing with a creamy, slightly smoky warmth.

In direct comparison, the Xerjoff Monkey Special is almost a little musty - as if it has had a bad day or been in the sun for too long. Mysterium, on the other hand, remains fruity, fresh, clean and balanced without becoming boring. It simply has that "wow effect" that you would want from a more expensive niche fragrance.

Longevity? Top. Sillage? Presence without intrusiveness. Price-performance ratio? Clearly an insider tip!

Conclusion:
If you like Tony Iommi but don't fancy tipped patchouli and the Xerjoff price - go for it. Mysterium is not just an alternative, but a real improvement.

Fresh Tony Iommi
A note at the beginning, the Tony Iommi by Xerjoff is one of my all-time top 5 fragrances. I already had several bottles of the OG, including the DUA Rockstar. And now, by chance, I came across this fragrance from Paris Corner. As far as I know, there are hardly any duplicates of Tony Iommi. Ok, the DUA is supposed to be one, but in my opinion it's not a 1:1 dupe. Another story, this is about the Mysterium. The fragrance profile has a lot in common with the original, the fragrance DNA is undoubtedly very similar. In a direct comparison, with Xerjoff on the back of one hand and Mysterium on the other, there are noticeable differences. Mysterium is fresher, has a stronger passion fruit note, but less rum and sweetness. This perfume is not as heavy, not quite as complex, but still does its job very well. I would say the more everyday Tony Iommi Monkey Special. The longevity is very good on my skin, but also on clothes, a tick weaker than the OG, but still easily 10, 11 hours, longer on clothes. The sillage is also good, you definitely notice it. And the only thing I can think of regarding the price is that this fragrance profile doesn't have to cost almost 400 euros/100ml. Mysterium is not a 1:1 dupe, but it is a very good, fresher alternative if you don't want to pay the high price for the original. I like to wear this one during the day and the slightly more potent and "deeper" Tony Iommi in the evening. Recommendation definitely goes out.
