The first time Orto Parisi and right away the green Viride. A truly great fragrance, it is very well done, it smells high-quality, fresh and green, just the way I like it.
I smell fresh mint in the opening, herbs, and later noble woods join in.
Acquired here in the souk at a fair price, I was incredibly excited about this fragrance.

However, I expected much more from the performance of an Orto Parisi.
Longevity and sillage are, with good will, just mediocre.
After 4 hours, the scent is hardly even detectable on my skin.
This really leaves me astonished. Orto Parisi is often described in reviews as "beast mode" and written about as such.

The fragrance itself is fantastic. Those who like green scents will enjoy Viride.
Maybe I just had bad luck with my bottle. I will probably seek out a decant and compare.

I ordered the fragrance as a sample for myself.
However, I found it too feminine, sweet, and delicate.
My wife, on the other hand, was so thrilled that she quickly ordered a bottle and is still very happy with it today.

The scent itself is too floral and sweet to be considered unisex or masculine, but it has incredible longevity and sillage, which I find lacking in many other beautiful fragrances.

Rhubarb is only consciously detectable in the opening, then it integrates cleanly into the overall composition with its slightly tart note.
You can also only smell incense and oud very subtly.

I really enjoy smelling this perfume on my wife and am very enthusiastic myself. It is simply extraordinary, unique, peculiar, and beautiful at the same time.

Is the scent something special? No.
Is the scent sexy? No.
Is the scent complex? No.
Is the scent fascinating? Kind of! But only because it is somehow always wearable for me, whether at work, biking, playing music in the metal band, or in the summer by the pool.
It is "the scent" that I reach for when I don't know what to wear, then I grab Caractère Eau de Toilette and it is never the wrong decision, I have never regretted it.
That is the special status of Caractère, for me.

Light and shadow, bright and dark, fear and courage, love and hate.
All these associations come to me every time I apply, smell, and enjoy "Cœur de Noir | Beaufort," from the opening to the drydown - and even days later, the memory of the scent lingers.
