Well, since I am still in the fortunate position of having my beloved Chloe Edt from 2009, I have thus far escaped the reissue. Today in the city, I got the chance to test the product that serves as a successor to the truly good fragrance.

I won’t beat around the bush? Old fox, whose idea was it to replace this amazing scent with a cheap laundry detergent?

In contrast to the old Chloe Edt, this one has no sillage, lasts about 2 hours at most, and consists only of a bunch of citrus notes, something soapy, and well - at least the rose is acceptable.

Everything that made the original Chloe Edt what it was is no longer present. No elegance, no depth, no wow effect..........

What used to be 'the norm', namely that you were constantly asked what you were wearing - quote "You smell heavenly!!!" - is not the case here - because the scent is so reduced that it barely qualifies as a body splash.

Dear Coty team: You missed the mark - because the old Chloe Edt had the potential to be a classic - this new one here can’t be more than one of those celebrity fragrances from the drugstore. Super expensive - lasts absolutely nothing - at most it can be a sport scent for the summer......

What a shame! RIP


Edit 15.12.2015: After testing the scent more thoroughly and slowly digesting that it has "taken my favorite Chloe's life" - I find the new Chloe not quite so bad - the scent does have something - only as mentioned above, it is far too weak for the price segment.....

I’m now buying the La Rive CUTE....... the dupe of the Chloe EDT 2009...... it smells almost identical and lasts like a bomb compared to the new Chloe EDT 2015, even though the 100 ml bottle costs barely 15 euros :-)

In search of something fresh, I strolled through the perfumery I trust / Angel season is definitely over for me due to the lack of sub-zero temperatures, we don't even have snow in beautiful Carinthia :-( grmph / this green bottle caught my eye. This is my spring scent, was my first thought,... I could already see the snowdrops growing before my mind's eye!!!

Right after spraying, very fresh, very green, the scent reminded me, as it initially has a slightly aquatic quality, a bit of Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline,... Great, I thought,... This is it!

But then the slap in the face: Lily of the valley without end,... I do like lily of the valley but these are drowned in sugar (I blame the pear),... and definitely very prominent.

The scent is grounded by a lot of vanilla and a good amount of patchouli. In the end, it bears a certain resemblance to Comme une Evidence by Yves Rocher.

For my wishes, unfortunately, the theme was missed, as if I didn't know that Jil Sander was on it, I would think this scent is a drugstore fragrance,... but it will surely find its lovers,... unfortunately not for me!

Now I'm still hoping strongly for Issay Myake L'eau Dissey Lotus,... Sniff!


23.01.2014 Ps: Sometimes I long for the times of Calyx, Clinique Happy, etc. I'm glad these scents still exist, but finding something new in that direction is hard on the market right now. All the new fragrances are heavily candied,... I do like sweet without a doubt (I also love Angel and Alien) but for a spring mood, it needs something honest, fresh, green,... one had enough sugar over Christmas,... in cookies and in fragrances,... One longs for an olfactory detox cure ;-)

Well, there is already tons of reading material available about Angel and Alien, and I don't want to repeat what has been written.

The scent is earthy, clearly patchouli, not everyone's cup of tea, but there is more to the angel....
My 4-year-old daughter and my husband both love this scent on me,...

Angel is, for me, the ultimate winter fragrance,... Memories of cookies, confectionery, vanilla, yes sweet, fruity,... but the patchouli in the scent ensures that it never becomes a teenage fragrance despite its sweetness. Vanilla can be nasty, often smelling synthetically cheap, but not in Angel!
Angel has something sublime about it, and yet it feels like a loving hug, a hug that my daughter snuggles into and tells me: Mami, you smell so good....

Ps: Well, the scent has an incredible effect on my husband too,... he understands something completely different by 'snuggling' when I wear this fragrance :-)

I don't know what everyone is talking about, or maybe it's just me, perhaps my sense of smell is confused, but I can't smell any fish or any feminine scents here.

I associate the fragrance with a day at the sea, somewhere in Istria,...the scent starts with a strong fig note (I'm mentally picking some from a garden there, of course secretly) and then I'm enveloped by a sea breeze, beautifully salty and fresh (we are by the coast, you can feel the waves and the wind). If there's anything animalistic, it's at most the scent that clings to you when you just come out of the sea and the salt from the water crystallizes on your warm skin.
I also smell a nutty component, I even dare to say that I perceive a very slight hint of coconut (I know, not present in the fragrance pyramid) and something slightly floral,...
In my eyes, it's really not a winter scent; this fragrance does not belong under a thick sweater, but directly on warm skin that is caressed by the wind, just be cautious with the dosage, but as with all Muglers, the dosage makes the poison!
I find the scent brilliant, it puts me in a holiday mood.

The scent is not dirty, animalistic, unwashed, or equated with unwashed underwear,... You just have to wear it correctly!

So now I'm going to cast my line out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because I am a confessed Womanity stinker!

Zen is, in my eyes, the yoga perfume in my collection. When I feel the need to unwind from everyday life, when I need to hit the brakes. It helps to bring in calm, silence, and serenity,... and above all, to `let go`, especially on days when nothing seems to go right, it saves my evening and allows me to wake up the next morning with a lot of motivation, thinking to myself `let's start anew`. Admittedly, it has a slightly medicinal note (I don't know which ingredient is responsible for that). Furthermore, it is a scent that is very stylishly wearable in professional life and radiates self-confidence. A fragrance that never seems inappropriate and exudes a positive aura. My soul comforter, then!
