Modern Le Mâle without mint
Ever since I saw the announcement of this fragrance on YouTube, I was extremely excited about it. I have to admit that I'm a fan of the classic Le Mâles, but even though it looks a bit worn, I still think the fragrance is great. I especially like the mixture of vanilla and mint. I also own Le Mâle Essence de Parfum and had Le Mâle Eau Fraîche, I also like the former very much, the latter was a bit too "young" for me.

When I saw Le Mâle Le Parfum in my local Douglas (admittedly that's exactly why I was there), I tried it immediately and was thrilled. A bit strange to sniff through the mask, but then I went out for a short time ;-). It clearly smells like Le Mâle, but somehow darker/warmer and without the mint. As I said at the beginning, the combination with the mint is what I like so much about the original. If you are looking for exactly that in a modern version, you will be disappointed. But the new one captures the rest of the DNA perfectly without smelling of a loveless copy, quite the contrary. The fragrance seems perfectly rounded and very mature to me. I find the fragrance very wearable and can also imagine that it fits more occasions than the original. Moreover, the new version is not so worn out, but still looks familiar. Durability and Sillage are very good, as expected.

If you like the original, you should definitely try this one -- a very clear recommendation despite the missing mint.

Serious freshness
When you start to deal with fragrances, you inevitably come to the point where you ask yourself for whom you are wearing them. For yourself? Sure. But even then, other people can hardly escape the personal choice. For others? It's going to be difficult because, as we all know, the perception of scent is very individual. It would be like trying to wear other people's favorite color. During the pandemic, I was increasingly in the home office and could wear whatever I wanted (my wife: "Oh man, what are you wearing?"). Now that I'm back in the office, I'm focusing on fragrances that have a good chance of being generally well received, or at least not disturbing. So not pink-gold-green-striped, but blue (nothing against lovers of pink-gold-green-striped!). But I wouldn't wear the scent if I didn't like it very much myself. What a great scent! Citric fresh, but serious and masculine. Friendly, but not too playful. Just great. Similarity to Sauvage? I can understand how it could go in the same direction on a certain level, but Sauvage is so much louder, spicier and more aggressive that I can't understand the comparison in the end. In any case, the areas of application are completely different for me. In my opinion, Bleu is a good choice for the office, but also for dinner, especially during the hot season. If you are not going out with a perfume nerd ;-)

Please forget the prejudices and give the perfume a chance. I have already made a lot of blind purchases and of course I can only recommend not to do this in general. If there is a fragrance where it could go well, then this one, but still. But you should test it in my opinion in any case.

Clean
From my point of view a masterly composition. If I had to describe the fragrance with one word it would be "clean". Other words would be high-quality, powdery, pleasant and discreet. I can't imagine the scent being offensive to anyone, but at the same time it is definitely not trivial. I have a few fragrances in my collection, so it is sometimes difficult to choose, but I have never regretted picking this fragrance. Very recommendable!
